U.S. Justice Department worried about Arizona Senate recount

The U.S. Department of Justice expressed concern Wednesday about ballot security and potential voter intimidation arising from the Republican-controlled Arizona Senate’s unprecedented private recount of the 2020 presidential election results in Maricopa County.

In a letter to GOP Senate President Karen Fann, the head of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division said the Senate’s farming out of 2.1 million ballots from the state’s most populous county to a contractor may run afoul of federal law requiring ballots to remain in the control of elections officials for 22 months.

And Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Pamela S. Karlan said that the Senate contractor’s plans to directly contact voters could amount to illegal voter intimidation.

“Past experience with similar investigative efforts around the country has raised concerns that they can be directed at minority voters, which potentially can implicate the anti-intimidation prohibitions of the Voting Rights Act,” Karlan wrote. “Such investigative efforts can have a significant intimidating effect on qualified voters that can deter them from seeking to vote in the future.”

Karlan wants Fann to lay out how the Senate and its contractors will ensure federal laws are followed. She pointed to news reports showing lax security at the former basketball arena where the ballots are being recounted by hand.

Fann said Senate attorneys were working on a response she promised to share when it was completed.

Democrats and the media are writing the narrative the AZ audit is voter intimidation.

How long before the DOJ raids the place and shuts it down to protect voters?

What utter bull shit. Voter intimidation through an audit?

You have to admit that Rats try really hard. They are great at leveraging a population where 50% of the people have below average intelligence.

Its BIDEN’s Justice Department and BIDEN’s Attorney General that are worried NOT the US. Of course they are worried - proof is being found that their senile “boss” stole the election and they may have to step in to protect him just like the FBI did for his son Hunter.

Oh. So now, “past experience” matters? Is “past experience” evidence? I thought “history starts today” with leftists, like in Cambodia and 60’s China.

The folding of the ballots reminded me of a scene from the movie “Catch Me If You Can”. In high school the savvy Abignale tells a girl forging a note to fold it, otherwise it would look fake. I have a feeling that the fake ballot makers skipped this step.

I actually read an article stating that only 92% of ballots are expected to be folded. Why would that be? My opinion is that it’s that it’s early propaganda by the left. They just may know that someone skipped the folding part.

Is there a reason some ballots would not be folded?

Armed patriots should be outside the Arena 24x7. We are at war and under attack but most don’t realize it.

That's the narrative.

All the media and DOJ have to do is interview a couple minority voters who say 'I'm scared' and the DOJ has just cause to shut it down.

The Feds have no business interfering in an election audit. This is the state legislature's plenary right under the U.S. constitution. The AZ state militia should be vigilant for anyone trying to illegally interfere in this.

Biden's always forging milestones (/s) .......he was the first Democrat to win the Arizona county since Harry Truman.
This "miracle" happened a few weeks after Biden and his VP candidate, held their first event together .... but no one showed up.

“It’s Kind of Boring Out Here” the Arizona 10 Reporter said, STUNNED After NO ONE Shows Up at Campaign Event with Joe Biden AND Kamala Harris.

(VIDEO) outside the Heard Museum in Phoenix. No one was cheering, no one was lining the streets, no one was holding signs.

No one was outside the venue to greet them.....not even a local Democrat. The election was less than 4 weeks away.

Before long the DOJ will be supplementing “past experience” with “future experience”... you know, to contrast experience already “experienced” with experience that will “experienced” sometime in the future. (It appears that I possess the talent to formulate written government administrative procedures.)

But they WON. Aren’t they happy there’s an audit happening that will confirm SlowJoe as legitimate president? (Just kidding.)
