John Cena’s China apology proves he’s no tough guy — and that Hollywood puts profit over human rights

When John Cena starts making apologies to the Chinese Communist Party, you know it’s time for him to tap out.

On Tuesday, the pro wrestler and star of “F9,” the latest “Fast and Furious” flick, managed to look like a fool stuck in a bad scissor hold as he publicly confessed to thought crimes by referring to Taiwan as a country during film promo interviews.

“I made a mistake,” Cena said in Mandarin on Weibo, China’s popular social-media platform. “Now I have to say one thing which is very, very, very important: I love and respect China and Chinese people. I’m sorry for my mistake. I must say now, [it’s] very, very, very, very important [that] I love, and respect even more, China and the Chinese people.”

I never agreed with Lenin, but in the last decade, I've started to get this terrible feeling that he could have been right when he said, "The Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them."

I see organizations like the NBA and this fool, who will completely bow down to China, because they say money in it. It could portend a terrible future.

John Cena is a pathetic excuse for a human being.

His latest words only embolden Communist aggression against freedom-seeking people, and he simultaneously defies the people of Taiwan who clearly stand as a Nation of Freedom.

F that creep, and F anyone else who thinks like him.

When Hollywood moved to making blockbusters for China was when the already low quality of their work sunk even further.

Waaaaait a minute. China has a popular social media platform? I thought the Chi-com government frowned on those sorts of things.

Oh. Wait. Maybe it's some sort of government controlled popular social media platform.

During WWII Coca Cola bottling in Germany was cut off from supplies and came up with a new drink and called it Fanta. It was then adopted by Coca Cola Hq. Correctamundo. Money talks.

THE WALT DISNEY COMPANY: DISMAYED BY AMERICA, INSPIRED BY CHINA
Hollywood censors films to appease China, report suggests
BBC ^ | 8/06/20 / FR Posted on 8/7/2020, 6:48:32 AM by Libloather

Hollywood bosses have been censoring films to placate the film market in China, a report has suggested. The lengthy report says US film companies want to avoid losing access to China’s lucrative box office market.

It said casting, content, dialogue and plotlines were increasingly being tailored to appease censors in Beijing. The report, compiled by the free speech charity PEN America, claimed China was therefore influencing movies released in cinemas around the world. China holds the world’s second largest box office market behind the US.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, American films earned $2.6bn (£2bn) in China last year, with Disney’s Avengers finale, Endgame, making $614m (£466m). **SNIP**

The report said that Marvel’s 2016 superhero film Dr Strange whitewashed a major Tibetan character for fear of jeopardizing the title’s chances of success in China. The forthcoming Top Gun sequel, Maverick, was also criticised for the “mysterious disappearance of the Taiwanese flag” in a 2019 trailer.

“Our biggest concern is that Hollywood is increasingly normalising pre-emptive self-censorship in anticipation of what the Beijing censor is looking for,” said James Tager, author of the report. (Excerpt) Read more at bbc.com ...

Joe Biden helped his son Hunter get billion dollar deals in China.....but Joe’s biggest deal was helping broker the Chinese takeover of the American entertainment industry. Xi’s visit to Los Angeles hit on all the right cultural notes. He schmoozed Hollywood bigwigs and their errand boys, like Dodd and Biden, he watched a Lakers game, and cheered Obama’s 100,000 Strong China initiative to have a hundred thousand American students study in the Communist dictatorship. “I can say with confidence my visit has been a full success,” Xi declared.

In China, culture serves the agenda of the Communist government. Unlike the Russians, who struggled vainly to stem the impact of American culture, their Chinese counterparts decided to control it at the source. Biden was a key figure in negotiating the terms on which the PRC would control Hollywood.

In 1962, the Manchurian Candidate depicted an effort by Communists in China, Russia, and elsewhere to kidnap and brainwash American soldiers. The modern remake replaced the Communists with a corporation and the Chinese doctor with a South African geneticist.

China could not be offended. While Biden, Katzenberg, and Xi were partying at the Marriot, human rights protesters were calling for freedom, and being arrested by the henchmen of a one-party Democrat city and state for their trouble. Even while Biden was falsely claiming that the Hollywood sellout would improve human rights in China, the rise of China was already violating human rights in America.

Now, as Chinese drones fly over American cities, police stalk empty streets, social media monopolies monitor every single phone, and Democrat officials dismiss the Bill of Rights while locking up millions of people, our rights are gone. And Joe Biden is the Manchurian Candidate who long ago sold out the country he now seeks to rule.

EXCERPT-—Made in Hollywood, Censored by Beijing
The U.S. Film Industry and Chinese Government Influence

Introduction -—— This report examines the ways in which Beijing’s censors have affected and influenced Hollywood and the global filmmaking industry. Stories shape the way people think, and the stories told by Hollywood reach billions. As an anti-censorship organization dedicated to the celebration of open cultural and artistic expression, PEN America has sought to understand how one of the world’s most censorious regimes is extending its influence over the global locus for filmmaking here in the United States, shaping what is perhaps the world’s most influential artistic and cultural medium.

PEN America defends and celebrates freedom of expression in the United States and globally. Our work has included a decades-long advocacy engagement on China, where dozens of members of our sister PEN organization—the Independent Chinese PEN Center—have been imprisoned or persecuted by Beijing.1 The most influential of those colleagues was Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Liu Xiaobo, who was serving an 11-year prison sentence for his writings when he died of liver cancer.2 Our work has involved advocacy campaigns, detailed research reports, literary exchanges, and other efforts aimed at pushing back against Beijing’s censorship policies and its criminalization of dissent.

Over the last decade or more, as Beijing has expanded its global role as a world power, leading trade partner, sovereign investor, and cultural influence, these domestic patterns of censorship and control have extended beyond China’s borders.

Beijing’s rising global influence has meant that the ruling Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) approach to censorship is making itself felt by publishers, authors, scholars, writers, journalists, and others who address topics of interest to China, regardless of their citizenship or where they are based.

In 2015, PEN America documented Chinese publishers’ censorship of Chinese-language translations of foreign authors in our report Censorship and Conscience: Foreign Authors and the Challenge of Chinese Censorship.

In 2016, we analyzed the CCP’s efforts to affect foreign media’s coverage of the country in Darkened Screen: Constraints on Foreign Journalists in China, and its enforced disappearance of five publishers (including two with foreign citizenship) connected to a Hong Kong bookstore in Writing on the Wall: Disappeared Booksellers and Free Expression in Hong Kong.

In 2018, our research on social media censorship in China for Forbidden Feeds: Government Controls on Social Media in China included an analysis of how Beijing’s digital censorship affected users of Chinese digital platforms even when they were outside the country.

“You think THAT’S going to stop China from pirate-ing your stupid film, John? HA!”

The movie is a joint venture between hollywood and china film studios. China does not bootleg or pirate their own stuff only 100% American gringo made films.
