I was taking flying lessons in Marshfield, MA as a 15 y.o. I was sensitive, not having a driver’s license, about my mother picking me up at the airport. Bailey, who had a business interest at the airport would give me a lift out to the highway in his beautiful sable brown Citroen/Maserati. Friendly to me and took an interest in my flight progress.

I read a couple of books by pro trial writers after the OJ trial was over. The prosecution team was so idiotically incompetent, along with the media seeking judge’s antics, that his acquittal was pretty much assured.

It started with the “genius”, Marcia Clark, deciding exactly how to prosecute the case within hours of the murder and before any real evidence had been gathered. Then you have the other “genius” who had OJ Simpson try to put on a leather glove that had been soaked in blood. Wet leather shrinks as anyone but an LA City ADA would know.

Never mind that the LA Dist Attorney, Gil Garcetti, kept only the worst ADAs in the main downtown office and sent the competent ones to out lying offices so he wouldn’t get upstaged by far better attorneys than him. Standard bureaucracy at it’s very best.

Cause of death was either Covid-19 or climate change. In either case, Trump’s fault.

Pirating is a crime, but why does swashbuckling need a defense attorney?

Swashbuckling: engaging in daring and romantic adventures with bravado or flamboyance.

Oh I see, that’s sexual harassment now.

FLee Bailey, 87, WAS a millionaire.

However, due to a series of financial troubles, he declared bankruptcy in 2018 and lost his fortune....and was worth only a hundred-grand or so at death.

He was married four times during his lifetime......which were probably four of the main sources for most of his financial troubles, LOL.

Bailey was on the Johnny Carson show back in the day. After introducing him, Johnny turned to him and deadpanned, “may I call you F?”

He was Patty Hearst’s defense attorney. Patty Hearst’s father paid him over $1 million, in 1976 dollars, to defend Patty Hearst. She was convicted and got a stiffer sentence than the SLA ring leaders who had public defenders. Patty Hearst wrote in her book that F. Lee Bailey was drunk during the trial.

Worthless . . . Sam Shepard and O.J. Gave all lawyers a very bad name. Sick and tired of his grandstanding.

Among the other things I remember about F. Lee Bailey, was his foray into the helicopter business, buying in Strom helicopters.

And telling a cop that it’s still a free country when the cop told him put out a cigarette. ( they made him pay dearly for daring to utter the words)
