I canceled about the same time you did - and for the same reason. A shame, because National Geographic was my real school growing up. I devoured every issue, and I owe much of my general knowledge of the world to the pre-1990’s version of the magazine. Kids today don’t have such alternatives to turn to.

I cancelled them in the early 1970s when I saw a trend where they were moving from science and geography into social issues. They stopped informing and began indoctrinating.

We had a special price when our kids were in grade school, and we continued subscribing for a decade plus.
It got more liberal on a monthly basis, and one of our then adult sons advised us to cancel it. So, we cancelled about when you did.
