Despite Protests, Biden’s War on Pipelines, Oil and Gas Flowing from Canada to U.S. at Record Volumes

Police were called to the Enbridge Inc. Line 3 pipeline in Minnesota earlier this week after protestors shackled themselves to the equipment being used to modernize and expand the infrastructure, in service since 1968, shipping crude oil from Alberta, Canada, to Midwest U.S. refiners. The protesters, mostly white according to photographs accompanying a Reuters report, said they stand with indigenous people who believe the pipelines are a threat to waterways despite no evidence to back up the claims.

In fact, Enbridge puts out an annual safety report detailing spills. In 2020 statistics included seven spills, all on Enbridge property. The total release volume was 943 barrels:

“...as the gasoline prices continue to skyrocket.”

Supply and demand still in effect, and demand is going up faster than supply.

(I invest heavily in oil and gas, so I keep track all the time).

PRICE INCREASES IT IS NOT CANADA BUT OUR DENIED OIL RESERVES THAT’S CAUSING THIS;
. When our energy resources use are prohibited from being used by political edict, that curiously benefits Russian oil supply
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3963509/posts
Pipe line shut downs affecting our resources and supply. which result in thousands losing jobs and reliance on costly imports from foreign( Like Canada) sources. Denying our energy resources use which if fully developed would turn out to be a major source of income when exported also gives Russia control over Germany .
Disasterous results should be expected when such edicts are issued . Those who order and support such decisions should be impeached because of the serious damage being done to the economy.

Alaska and states like Californica and every state which has so called fossil energy reserves both coal and oil and this includes llinois which has both. Cal and Alaska, TX, and possibly Penn has enough stuff there they not only get the stuff from the ground but process it into fuel so that their gas would only cost $1.50 or even less a gallon

Not to mention that oil coming across the border heavily doesn’t mean that much. The price of oil is fungible, and that oil coming from Canada is going to refineries. From there some of it will go overseas.

It’s good that we refine a lot, we are the cleanest at it. And Americans make good money doing it.

The price of gas is right where it should be. It was unusually low for a while there due to lower demand. Now, a LOT more planes are flying plus Americans are driving more miles as summer hits and COVID closures are going away. Transitory.

Everything is transitory, but most people have very short memories and outlooks.

“Pipe line shut downs affecting our resources and supply.”

True.

“Cal and Alaska, TX, and possibly Penn has enough stuff there they not only get the stuff from the ground but process it into fuel so that their gas would only cost $1.50 or even less a gallon”

Oversimplification and not even close to true. That’s not the way it works and never will be the way it works for very good reasons.

Lots of oil tank cars going south by my house on the KCS-Canadian Pasific- Burnington Northiern route. More than I have ever seen in the past.

It started when Biden took office.

If you will remember a couple of years back, when “Enviros and Indians” shut down construction of the pipeline, it turned off so cold they all cleared out of their protest camp and left behind 400 tons of trash to be cleaned up by others.

“The price of gas is right where it should be.”

And I say it is not. Higher energy costs effect everything and they are a regressive tax on the poor. I say increase production to cut the price of gasoline and diesel by 60% and everyone will be better off.
