An employee at an Alabama plant fatally shot two people and wounded two others early Tuesday, police and company officials said.

The gunfire at the Mueller Company plant in Albertville broke out at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, WAAY reported, citing a company spokesman.

Two people were killed while two others were rushed to a hospital for treatment, according to the report.

The gunman then fled the scene in a vehicle, WAFF reported.

People aren't taught competition in schools so they get pissed when they lose, they think everyone should get a participation trophy.

Let’s not forget stuff like this has been going on for a long, long time.

The real difference today is there’s actually LESS of it.

Statistics show that homicides in the USA peaked several decades ago. However, that was BEFORE a 24/7 news cycle, always on news and a press with an anti-gun agenda.

The homicide rate high point was 1980, with 10.4% per 100,000.

Now, 2021 is expected to be a bumper year of death, but not as high as 10.4%.

I’ll also say you never truly know until December 31st at 11:59:59 PM.

Extra pissed off? Perhaps.

OTOH, mass shootings and reports of even onesie-twosie shootings always spike whenever congress is trying to push gun control.

The most logical explanation is congressional attempts at gun legislation cause gun violence....

There was a fatal shooting a year or so ago in an Atlanta-area plant. The company where it occurred, and I don’t remember the name, was an affiliate of Mueller. I remember this because the victim in Atlanta grew up in the tiny town where I went to high school (Holly Pond), my father-in-law lives in Albertville, and I went to junior college in Boaz (Snead State), a small city right next to Albertville. I wonder if this has some reflection on the company itself. Exceptionally coincidental if it is not.

Of course we don’t know the specifics in this case but I wonder if affirmative action doesn’t have an effect here. First you have people hired because they check off a needed box and not because they are necessarily suitable for the job. Add in that in some companies, once the box is checked, the company fails to invest much in that employee and they find themselves in a dead-end job. Then, rather than promoting from within, another affirmative action hire (to check even more boxes) is brought in as a manager and is an inexperienced, sometimes arrogant person now bossing around the original affirmative action hires. Another factor is the regular route of all employees of working their way up the ladder is stymied by these affirmative action pushes and you have some real disgruntled employees. It is all part of the system now granting rewards to and imposing obstacles before people based on immutable characteristics like skin color and chromosomes.

Yup. This will never be discussed out in the open.

These sorts of policies are causing un-necessary and and un-acknowledged stress in many companies.
