In the first public accounting of its kind in decades, an Associated Press investigation has found that at least 1,900 U.S. military firearms were lost or stolen during the 2010s, with some resurfacing in violent crimes. And that's certainly an undercount. Government records covering the Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force show pistols, machine guns, shotguns and automatic assault rifles have vanished from armories, supply warehouses, Navy warships and elsewhere. These weapons of war disappeared because of security failures that, until now, have not been publicly reported, including sleeping troops and a surveillance system that didn’t record.

Riiiight— they were “lost” -— how about SOLD by certain bent or directed gubmint opportunists or following orders? Entirely possible, in fact likely.
Same way 100’s of pounds of fentanyl gets across our border— some dirty cops have to let it in... ordered by their equally bent higher ups. Who then say— like Eric Holder did— that it was an “operation”. Somehow they never got the weapons or dope back.
The theft has not been in “decades” it has been going on. The system is SET up to overlook these transfers of mil hardware to “operations” of other 3 letter agencies, apparently domestic AND overseas. Like— how did MANPADS get traded froam Benghazi through a Turkish port to the “moderate” ISIS which turned out to be al-qaeda in Syria (answer: obamaumao, hitlery and certain others in the Senate “transferred” these weapons, and got a piece of the money. Gunrunners IOW).
So- does Fox ask if the “nominee” for BATF- EVER retrieved his own govt. issue firearm which was .... “LOST”. Answer: he was NOT asked by any Senator. No way should an idiot like him be head of BATFE.
Someone else must have a dupe key.
The full auto AA-12 Military Fully Automatic Shotgun with exploding bullets , essentially a high speed grenade launcher.
i want one along with a few cases of that Frag 12 ammo for future self defense crowd control against ANTIFA and the BLM Commies.
Our unit was locked down because of three missing .45 rounds.
They used to take things very seriously.
Obama and Jarrett Plan
They’re too busy making sure enlisted fags and pedophiles feel at home in the New Army.
It’s the rocket and grenade launchers and mortars that worry me.
I don’t doubt that.
We had a basewide search because a USAF Security Policeman lost one round. We even had to search all vehicles the Airman wasn’t even near. Don’t think it was ever found.
“American citizens own 300 million guns, including 20 million assault rifles. The US Military has only 4 million rifles.”
Sure, but what war has been won in the last 100 years by who has more guns? Artillery and explosives control a battlefield, not rifles.
It’s just mean for a person to show that they have an AA-12. It’s like saying “I’ve got one and you can’t have one. Ha, ha ...”
1900? Oooooo...scary.
And that number is worldwide.
We had a 1911 go missing at the Marine Barracks in Washington DC back in 1962. Two FBI agents snooped around for a few days. Finally, the pistol mysteriously showed up in a wash bucket next to the Commandants’s limo.
When my Dad and friends were in the Army, if you misplaced a piece of brass it was OH MY GOD!
And they are misplacing mortars?
I liked that series.
Agreed, Many would love to have an AA-12 and a few cases of the FRAG 12 ammo.
One man could control close to 100 acres with that one fire arm.
“...including 20 million assault rifles.”
Really? You buy into the assault rifle fiction?
No lie...remember the CEOI, that little booklet that had frequencies and call signs for use out in the field? I wore that thing around my next, to make sure I didn't lose it.
A platoon leader at another battery lost his during a field exercise...his military career was over at that point.
That was back in the late 70s. I made the mistake of flunking my first ARTEP. Boy did I catch some flak over that. Turned out to be one of the best learning exercises of my life. After about a month, I finally told my battery commander, "I get it...my neck is on the line, so stay out of my way and let me do my job."
Over the next 18 months, I took 3 more platoons through their ARTEPs, and bailed the BC's ass out of a battery level ARTEP. Long boring story (interesting only to myself, lol), but he phased out mentally after a rough second day. As (acting) XO, I laid out the plan for the final day, and we barely passed. The only friend I made during that one way discussion was with the evaluation team chief, who was standing outside our CP.
When I bumped into him, he smiled and said, "that was beautiful, LT."
