Michael Wasserman wants to let his freedom fly — but his town of Long Beach, LI, isn’t having it.
“I believe the city is trying to silence me because I’m pro-Trump,” he told The Post.
The 62-year-old entrepreneur has become known in the area for plastering his home — along with his Porsche and Jeep — with a rotating variety of political flags and stickers. Now he has filed a $25 million federal suit — against the City of Long Beach, the chief of police, the city manager and specific police officers — after officials forced him to remove the flags on his cars.
The town claims they are a violation of an ordinance stating that “[No] sign shall be erected, affixed or maintained within the perimeter of any … public street or public property.” Wasserman parks his car on a public street outside his home.
“They’re bending and massaging the ordinance to fit the crime,” Wasserman told The Post. “This is a blatant attempt to silence me.”
The town’s lawyer, Howard M. Miller, told The Post: “It’s not a political case. It’s not the contents of the message. it’s where he had it — it’s a public street.”
Wasserman — who said police have visited his home multiple times since March, giving reasons from neighbor complaints to violation of ordinances — believes he is targeted for being a conservative.
“[People] spit at me, drive by cursing me out,” he said of local residents. His Porsche, which is decorated with stickers — including one depicting Trump urinating on a CNN logo — is marred with scratches from people keying it.
But, he said, all the hate only strengthens his resolve.

I like that he supports Trump and conservative interests.
I DON”T like that he uses large signs with profanity where the public cannot help but to see it as they pass by.
I don’t suport him on that.
It’s inappropriate and disturbing the peace.
You want your neighborhood to be calm and easy, not a rhetorical battlefield. He seems to be making a strong effort to get attention and provoke direct confrontation. He best watch what he’s asking for, as he might get it.
There is a big difference tween ‘trying to silence’ someone and simply asking for more discretion.

A couple of guys in Florida put up that offensive, vulgar anti-Biden flag on his house. A neighbor complained to one of the home owners that his kids walk by and have to see it. He told the complainer to go pound sand, it’s a free country, it’s free speech, etc. Just the sort of behavior you would expect from the donks. It was disappointing.
my HOA would have put the kibosh on this guy.
Living in New York? That is a big mountain of liberal carcasses to climb.
If he had signs cursing out Trump, the town would not be harassing him. It’s one law for liberals (look the other way) and another for conservatives. Take that to the bank.

The neighbor next door had a Bernie sign in their yard.
I kept driving and told her , no thanks.
I had “TRUMP 45” Vanity Plates on my Dodge Challenger when I lived in Southern CA. Got them before he was even Elected.
(Still have the Plates) They can bury me with them.
Most people were very supportive, but to a man and woman people told me they wouldn’t have the guts to put those Plates or anything Trump related on their own Cars.
Dealt with a few instances of idiocy, but overall it was fun. Of course, with the ramped up Trump hatred and the Lawlessness we see every day, I’m not sure if I would be dealing with the same level of Civility I did then.

LOL! Awesome, I might have met this guy at Trump parades. I live not far from him and can confirm L.I. is utterly infected with Marxists who lose their minds over Trump signs.
