I really believe Alaska should be its own country. We could of course provide them with security, but there’s no need for a land that’s a third of the size of the continental U.S. to be a state.

Alaska has been very beneficial to the US both strategically and economically. Moreover, tossing away 3 reliable electoral votes isn’t a good idea either. 2 GOP Senators are needed to help maintain power in that body (granted, at present, one of them is Murkowski...hopefully that will soon improve).
