As it happens, Wi Spa isn’t the only similar space that’s had to balance accommodating both cis customers and trans customers in various stages of their transitions. A rep for Century Day and Night Spa on Olympic Boulevard recalls a similar situation just before the pandemic shut them down in spring 2020 in which a trans woman (“with everything reflected female on her driver’s license”) caused an uproar among cis gender female clients by exposing male genitals in the female pools and lockers. “[She] wouldn’t really use the spas, [she] just sat at the corner of the pool with [her] feet in the water and [her] legs spread or took front-facing showers,” the rep recalls. “People began to feel uncomfortable. It became very disruptive.” When the spa finally confronted her, she was adamant that the spa should attempt to normalize young girls and women viewing male genitalia.
“Typically,” says the rep, “transgender people are very mindful of not only their own comfort levels but the comfort levels of people around them. This person was not respectful.”
In a statement to Los Angeles about this weekend’s incident, Wi Spa points to California Civil Code 51 (b), which makes discriminating against trans and other gender non-conforming people in business establishments illegal in the state. “Like many other metropolitan areas, Los Angeles contains a transgender population, some of whom enjoy visiting a spa,” the statement goes one. “Wi Spa strives to meet the needs of all its customers.”

Dana Loesch discussed this on her program today. The pretend women claim to be ‘uncomfortable’ using the men’s dressing rooms. And their feelings apparently out trump the real women/girls’ discomfort having a man in their dressing rooms.
The real women (not the ‘cis women’) can vote with their feet since California law would punish the spa owner if he tries to keep the pretend woman out of the women’s areas. Don’t know that many spas can financially exist on the phony women’s trade, but that’s not the state’s problem, is it?
we had a similiar incident locally. the local DA smeared the spa for weeks in the press(possible prostitution, sex slavery). after all the smearing, the DA never filed any charges.
100%. Why would any sane woman want to go back? But I feel terrible for the business owners who have to navigate Charybdis (woke bureaucrats) and Scylla (angry real women) on this issue. They really have no choice, it appears.

It would be cost prohibitive to also provide individual pools. The woke Regulators may think they are great, but if enough of these spas (all) because regular women, except for Bette Midler and the other ultra-liberal ugly women (should only require 1 or 2 for LA County), then CA and the IRS lose a lot of money from Capital losses in the millions, and the current income taxes from the salaries and tips.
