When I graduated college in the 80’s I went to work for a Fortune 150 electronics component manufacturing firm with a substantial portion of their business in military, aerospace and automotive sectors. The company’s president was an engineer - a serious one. He held tens of patents that lined his office wall. The corporate culture was hard-core. Ideas and facts mattered. While not “mean”, if you ever spoke a weak-minded thought in a meeting, you would be torn to shreds. There was constant competition. By the mid-90’s all that was mostly gone. The company company was broken up and sold off. It’s mostly American manufacturing facilities where were shuttered and offshored. I left in the early 90’s to work for myself when I saw the writing on the wall. Somehow I think it was my generation (tail-end of baby boomers) that started all this crap and it has only accelerated since.
Liberal cities Waltham Mass and Tucson AZ, the homes of Raytheon, both subscribe to woke theology.
