Los Angeles County to restore indoor mask mandate for all

LOS ANGELES — A rapid and sustained increase in COVID-19 cases in the nation’s largest county requires restoring an indoor mask mandate even when people are vaccinated, Los Angeles County’s public health officer said Thursday. Dr. Muntu Davis said at a virtual press conference that a public health order requiring masks indoors will go into effect Saturday. “This is an all-hands-on-deck moment,” he said. Davis didn’t fully detail what he said would be some exceptions but said for example, people could still go out to eat and take off their masks only while eating and drinking. The county has been recording more than 1,000 new cases each day for a week, and there is now “substantial community transmission,” Davis said.

I got into it with a woman who said she wore a mask to the store because her daughter is not vaccinated. I asked her if she wore a mask around her daughter and she said she did not. People are idiots

When I was an EMT, I wore a mask around the patients but it wasn’t to prevent me from catching their heart attack.

From the perspective of one with nearly five decades of hands-on experience with PPE including masks, forced masking of healthy people (or of unhealthy people for that matter) is based on the false premise -- the completely false premise -- that masks -- even when properly selected, applied, fit-tested, worn and maintained -- can control, much less prevent transmission of a respiratory virus. It's a vile, nasty, outright lie when promoted by "medical experts" who damn-well know that what they say isn't true; who damn-well know that a mask is no more effective in this application then is wearing a garlic braid around the neck to ward off the covid evil spirit.

It is a particularly vile lie that these "experts" assure people at risk who truly need protection from the communist chinese virus that a mask will protect them. It won't; nor will LA's new mandate. Mandates are as completely ineffective against this respiratory virus (and all its variants) as are masks. Mandates do not "get better with age" or with repeated imposition!
