This is a UK study of young suicides published 2017/8 for data a year or two before that. The suicide numbers look similar to what is quoted above.
One interesting thing is a common suicide cause in children is bereavement. A family member dies and the child can’t endure it.
Covid may cause child suicides in that manner. A grandparent, perhaps.
the latest stat I could find was 316 suicides in two years 2017-18 in the 10-20 year age group.
