U.S. Postal Workers Rightfully Revolt Against Joe Biden's Mandatory Vaccination Mandate

As of now, the United States Post Office is rejecting Biden’s looming call for mandatory vaccines for all federal employees.
The rejection of the jab by the American Postal Workers Union (APWU) delivers a surprising yet much-deserved slap to the face of the administration for their totalitarian over-reach.

Are USPS employees considered federal government employees, by law? I know the Postal Service is one of the few explicit agencies stated in the Constitution but so many changes over the decades (forcing the USPS to fully fund pensions, for example) that I just don’t know if it actually is anymore.
And I know that some USPS routes are sub-contracted. Or at least they used to be.

It would be curious to go agency by agency, to get the current VAX rates. On the postal guys, I doubt if they’ve even reached the 20-percent level. The Marines admitted around a month ago that they were at the 50-percent level and leveled off.

I suspect it will not make much difference if they are subcontractors. In fact, they will probably make the law search that subcontractors of subcontractors of subcontractors will have to have fully vaccinated staff.

Well, considering the sheer numbers I’d wager the number is quite a bit higher than 20% - probably closer to the national average. Given decent odds I’d wager even higher than the population of adults. These are “government workers” after all.
That said, they never stopped working. Like police, fire, EMTs, doctors and nurses and other front line workers they kept the job and there are no reports that they are any better or worse off than anybody else. Given the demands of the job and the nice retirement plans they probably skew younger, demographically, and are less at risk overall. But on the whole I’d imagine they were slightly more at risk than the average person given their interaction with so many people. They made it this far, they can go on without intervention.

I believe at one point, the testimony was that only about half of the people at the NIH or maybe it was the CDC got the jab.

Preface this with I see no reason for anyone to be forced to take this experimental shot.
You would be wrong on guessing the percentages due to the high number of minorities working for the post office.
Many postal employees are in extremely bad health due to bad eating habits, crappy sleep schedules, and inactivity. Most of the carriers have driving routes so they sit for 6 + hours a day. Window clerks tend to stay at their stations and standing all that time is not good. There is one manager for every four workers (100,000 to 400,000) and most of them are office sitters. The people who work in distribution tend to work evenings or midnights.
Retirement was great when you retired under the Civil Service Plan, the Federal Employees Retirement Plan is so-so. After 32 years you would get @ $1500 a month plus a Social Security supplement, but you can’t touch your TSP (basically your 401K) until you reach 59 1/2 so you had better be well prepared or hold off until you are 62. Yes many people get less, but I know many companies and especially state employees who make way more. My sister-in-law works for a county agency and she will retire after 29 years with full pay. Teachers here can retire with full pay and free healthcare after 20 years.

I’m a USPS sub contractor. I refuse to get vaccinated. My employees can do as they please. None of my business.
This is good news. Hopefully, they’ll stick to their statement.

forcing the USPS to fully fund pensions, for exampleWell, kinda. My sons wife works for the USPS and their pension covers only a normal work week - no overtime included - and yet they routinely work her 50 hours a week.
