HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – Former Congressman and Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke has officially announced that he will be running for one of Montana’s two seats in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2022.

Zinke, a Republican, was elected to Montana’s at-large seat in the House in 2014 but stepped down after being named President Donald Trump’s Interior Secretary.

Zinke resigned from that role in January 2019 and has been the subject of numerous federal investigations into potential ethics violations. Zinke denies any wrongdoing.

Montana gained a new Congressional district due to the state’s increase in population, and Zinke says once the two districts are drawn, he will run for the one he resides in.

A new seat in the House for MT should mean an R pick-up from one of the seats lost from a blue state.

Zinke is a dipstick.

He was run out of the Trump Administration for problems.

Have those problems magically disappeared?

Plus, he really liked Paul Ryan.

It should be a GOP pick up. We need all the help we can get.

We just don’t know how things will turn out, state by state, with the redistricting/reapportionment. For example, West Virginia lost a seat, and since all three current members of Congress are Republican, we know that’s a Republican loss.

California lost a seat, but will gerrymandering ensure that the loss will be one of the remaining GOP seats in California?

Ditto New York. The Democrats who run that state will work hard, I’m sure, to gerrymander such that a Republican seat is lost there, not a Democrat one.

Remember, that for all the Democrat complaints about gerrymandering, it’s considered ok if they do it, but it’s a crime against humanity if Republicans do it in places where they control the process.

Zinke is a dipstick.

Well, on the plus side, at least he isn't a tree-spiking eco-terrorist Bidenite...

;>)

Well, this should be where we work in primaries, to get the most conservative Republican nominated in the primary, so he/she can go to the general election, one on one, against whoever the Democrats put out there.

It “could” be a R pickup, but the way they are splitting the state gives the communists the advantage.

Most of the population increase is blue staters moving in.
