Afghanistan veteran MP says Taliban takeover has caused "anger, grief and rage" - BBC News Conservative MP Tom Tugendhat, a veteran who served in Afghanistan, told MPs in the UK's House of Commons about his fears of a "forever war". He told MPs the past week felt like "the abandonment of not just a country but the sacrifice that my friends made". Mr Tugendhat has been among the most critical British politicians in recent days, raising concerns about the speed of the withdrawal from Afghanistan. He says it is not just soldiers but aid workers and diplomats "who feel the same".

I understand your sentiment but you should consider the possibility of the Taliban trying to establish Muslim hegemony worldwide and that their main target has become the US. After their defeat of the US in Afghanistan, they may just be convinced that they can do the same in continental US especially when they now know that Americans will not make use of their weaponry available at home. They now know that the use of the 2nd A is an idle threat. They relish the idea of seeing American women handing their babies to foreign troops. With our clown president at the helm, expect the unimaginable to happen at home. Hell, after this debacle we may become the greatest beneficiary of a strong NATO.
As long as Joe is in the WH, the US will remain a target to the Taliban. Imagine the prestige they gain by attacking a DC target. We cannot afford to have Joe as president — he makes us vulnerable to Taliban attack because of easy access through our open border policy and by disarming the American populace.
