Old hybrids don’t seem to have this problem.

Leave it to Government Motors and the UAW to kill the oversized golf kart experiment.

As Tom’s Guide notes, the recall isn’t just a massive hit to Chevrolet. It's "arguably the absolute worst thing to happen to the electric car industry right now" because it “could scare off a lot of EV shoppers.”

A person would have to be nuts to buy an electric car...

What dump are they going to use to ‘bury’ all these toxic batteries?

“a lot of EV shoppers” Really? A LOT of ev shoppers? Just present your CONvid-19 vax cert and get a thousand off. By the way, anyone heard the UAW’s stance on the “stab”?

My car gets 29mpg in city driving. No way do I need or want an EV. Though for Ford it seems there is huge interest in their upcoming 2022 EV pick-up truck. They are expanding their production plans.

I do wonder how the EV’s meet residential fire code.

If they catch fire while charging, Team Biden will launch lawfare against the coal companies that dig the fuel that runs the plants that generate the power that recharges EVs. Simple.

Heh! Exact same thing happened to me. Ran outside and poured water on it. Couldn’t put it out. Left big black mark on the concrete. Never do that again!

One of my co-workers on the 3rd floor of a building had a laptop battery catch fire on his desk. He had the presence of mind to put the flaming laptop in his metal trash can. The floor was evacuated due to toxic fumes, but a building fire was averted.

It is always a disaster when liberal dreams meet reality. Electric cars will never work. Of course, many of those supporting them don’t care because the goal is control.

The fumes from the Kindle battery smelled very toxic. I did thrown water on it, but it had very little effect. The stuff inside the battery was like napalm.

I recently looked online for instructions on replacing an iPhone battery. I watched a couple of minutes to know I want nothing to do with it as it is another of those "soft" style batteries. I'll take it to the Genius store or get another phone.

Gee. I thought this would be about how most of the lithium deposits currently are in Afghanistan.
Honestly, now - doesn’t it seem like someone with an ulterior motive (that included/involved battery power) was/is behind the collapse of Afghanistan.
Hmmmmm ..... is this going to be to the advantage of .... aahhhmmmm .... some Asian country? Maybe China benefits greatly?
No such thing as a coincidence.

I say that EVs will eventually be everywhere right when hydrogen fuel cell vehicles hit the big time. Charging stations, meet landfills.

Sprinklers are being required in new construction in many areas. Partially because of the sprinkler companies lobbying (a lot of fire codes are started that way).

Of course, as they fail the homeowner is hit with massive repair bills insurance typically does not cover.

We have a Nissan Sentra. Excellent gas mileage. Who needs electric?
