The women’s lib movement played havoc with women’s minds. In my mother’s family, a large family, all four of the women went to college. They chose careers as nurses or school teachers, married, and raised children. Some careers are better suited to raising children. Teachers have summers and holidays off, nurses often work four long days a week.
Now women have been herded into the idea that they have to be a high-powered lawyer or businesswoman who often works all weekends and may have a lot of travel for business.
There are more sensible ways of having a career and raising children than what women’s heads have been filled with. It should not have to be an all or nothing situation.
“They chose careers as nurses or school teachers, married, and raised children. Some careers are better suited to raising children. Teachers have summers and holidays off, nurses often work four long days a week.”
You described many of my female relatives from my Mother to a Grand Daughter in your excellent summation above.
That description also, fits most of our female friends in their late 60’s to 80’s.
They were educated, had families and still had good careers.
Their adult off spring are also good people. They are not revolving door whackos, who should be in jail to protect themselves and others.
