France and Britain plan to table an emergency UN security council resolution on Monday calling for the Taliban to back a civilian-run safe zone at Kabul airport that would allow the continued air evacuation of those who want to leave the country, the French president has said.
“What we are trying to do is to be able to organize targeted humanitarian operations for evacuations that will not take place through the military airport in Kabul,” Emmanuel Macron told the Journal du Dimanche newspaper.
“It is about protecting these threatened Afghans and getting them out of the country in the coming days or weeks. We will see if this can be done through the capital’s civilian airport or through neighboring countries”.
He said such a deal would be a prerequisite for constructing a future western relationship with the Taliban.

Terrorist don’t recognize truces or cease-fires or peace pacts or peace talks or safe zones.
Macron and those in Europe who believe in dealing with the terrorists, are as naive and dumb as the dumb rock we have as president in the U.S.

This might work if it’s reclassified as a “rented zone”. As in, We’d be happy to get you millions of dollars in bribes and “humanitarian aid”. In return, please let us pretend that we’re still relevant for a while.
I always found that strange how the same phrase can have two opposite meanings. Under Roberts Rules of Order “to table” means to lay aside temporarily to conduct other business. But (as you said) in much of the rest of the world it means to put new business on the agenda for immediate consideration.

This has got to be the answer. First of all, we are not really talking about the Taliban, we’re discussing representation of Al Qaeda. The Taliban is just an extension of them.
But this tack is obviously going to work since neither of the recognized groups there have (n)ever worked within any agreement they have made with anyone. They agreed with Biden and let him extend the withdraw date to a quarter of a year later from the original deal made by Trump and have violated that by killing people as they are leaving a week before the deadline at the main exit point in Kabul. And Biden didn’t make the effort to get people out of Kabul with any urgency so he is now giving the terrorists an excuse to do this, which they probably would have done anyway unless he had done his job.
I am never disappointed with liberal/socialist attempts to extend their philosophies geared toward working with animals that have proven their worthlessness to be alive on this wet rock we live on. (By their own decisions, wishes, and actions) All sides of this continue to fall all over themselves with stupidity. And between the terrorists and the “civilized” countries, guess which one doesn’t give a $hit? And be careful, it is going to take considerable thought to make that tough decision on who’s more trustworthy and actually cares to follow up on what they think they should do.

I suppose it's easier to take one more cheap shot at the French than to admit that it's the Americans who look like the asses here. (And yes, I am speaking in diplomatic terms as a country; I know that most of us are furious at the idiocy coming from the top.)
