US Contract Working Dogs Abandoned at Kabul Airport After Last Plane Left
Survive the News ^ | 08 30 2021 | Staff

Joshua Hosler, President of Veteran Sheepdogs of America, is frantically trying to rescue the dogs that have been used and left behind in the Taliban controlled country after the Department of Defense ordered that they be left behind.

Dr. Robin R. Ganzert, president and CEO of American Humane, has issued a statement condemning the cruelty.

“I am devastated by reports that the American government is pulling out of Kabul and leaving behind brave U.S. military contract working dogs to be tortured and killed at the hand of our enemies. These brave dogs do the same dangerous, lifesaving work as our military working dogs, and deserved a far better fate than the one to which they have been condemned,” Ganzert said."

American Humane even offered to help transport and provide lifetime medical care for the dogs.

“This senseless fate is made all the more tragic, as American Humane stands ready to not only help transport these contract K-9 soldiers to U.S. soil but also to provide for their lifetime medical care,” the statement continued. “American Humane has worked hand in hand with the military for more than 100 years to rescue military animals. In fact, our famed rescue program began on the bloody battlefields of WWI Europe, at the request of the U.S. Secretary of War. Since that time, American Humane served as a pioneer in the development of animal therapy for returning veterans, and today brings home retired military working dogs and pairs veterans with life-saving service dogs.”

I don’t understand this. These are trained working dogs.

I am ashamed.

And no outrage in the media? None?

I have no idea.

I really feel like balling up on the sofa and hugging my dogs so hard they get mad at me, right now.

I hate this.

So the Biden administration is treating American citizens stranded in Afghanistan the same way they treat dogs. On the positive side, however, the Biden administration can rightly claim that they treat dogs as well as they treat people.

Anyway, I'd be interested in adopting one of these brave dogs if I get the opportunity.

So... what do you expect? These are just unclean trained working dogs. Right?

The taliban is one of the weakest foes in the world and biden is letting this happen?

What is next kju gonna light up a rocket?

“I’m a huge German Shepherd fan” So am I and my wife. We’ve have 3 in our lives since we’ve been married. One was purebred with verifiable bloodlines. A Prima Donna. We called him King. Turned out to be very appropriate. Our second was the offspring of two military working dogs. Named Zues.
The third was a rescue pup. An abandoned dog. Mange ridden, skinny as hell, and was picked up wandering the streets. We named him Rocky.
When we brought him back a year later the county shelter couldn’t believe he was the same dog. The Vet who recommended we not adopt him was amazed at the difference. He was now 110 pounds, healthy, and happy. A totally lovable dog. We love all our shepherds. But, our rescue pup is special. He’s the most lovable and friendly 110 pounds we’ve ever owned.
But, he sucks as a guard dog. Our shepherd from the purchase of the pup from military working dogs excels at that. The rescue pup, now grown, follows behind him like a Corporal follows a Master Seargent. We love each of them
But, that said, they are ANIMALS. Not humans.
If we turned away Americans at the gates of Kabul Airport that act is so far beyond shameful and unconscionable I have no words for that. And, as I said, if this is true, there is no excuse for any American Military man doing such a thing. None. Period. Any order from above directing such a thing should have been considered an UNLAWFUL ORDER and disobeyed.
Anyone following such orders is a DISGRACE TO THEIR UNIFORM AND TO THEIR COUNTRY.

You can tell a lot about a person hy the way they treat their animals.

Biden.

To a lesser extent, our military, for obeying those orders.

I cried a little bit. I started thinking about what I’d do to the people who previously had my therapy dog (who I trained to take to nursing homes and hospitals to visit residents and patients), because she was abused terribly. She’s a very sweet and obedient dog.

Then I thought about her being left in a crate in a desert with a population that hates dogs. The fact that these dogs are our military’s trained K9s makes it worse. Poor loyal things are just going to be shot and killed after diligently doing their jobs.

My understanding is they did get the dogs, and their handlers, out.

If you have a link to an update please post.

Well, at least the liberals will be more outraged. Like in the movies. The lady gets killed, then the guy. Ho hum. But when the dog gives its last whimper....

Last I heard it was ordered that their cage doors be left open so they could “fend for themselves”.

Mitt Romney would approve.
Funny you should mention him because his former running mate, at Fox News, Paul Ryan is partly responsible by extension, when they enabled election fraud with their silence, to defeat Trump.

Those dogs need to be saved or they will be dead soon, I do wonder about the cats as well, when I was at NKC and HQ in Kabul we had some liked them as well.
