A majority of Americans, at 50 percent, believe that getting vaccinated against COVID is "a personal choice," according to poll results recently released from a Washington Post-ABC News conducted August 29-September 1. Forty-eight percent say it "is part of everyone's responsibility to protect the health of others."
A write-up of the poll from The Washington Post also highlights how there has been an increase in those getting vaccinated, including those it claims were more hesitant:
Those shifts parallel a rebound in vaccinations, with the share of adults with at least one coronavirus shot rising from 67 percent on in early July to 75 percent as of Saturday, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The poll finds younger Republicans and Republican-leaning independents have become more willing to get vaccinated since this spring, a significant shift for one of the country’s most vaccine-hesitant groups.
...
In one notable shift, younger Republicans and Republican-leaning independents have become significantly more willing to get vaccinated since this spring. In April, a 55 percent majority of Republican-leaning adults under 40 said they would probably or definitely not get vaccinated. With the delta variant now circulating widely, the latest poll finds that hesitancy falling to 36 percent among young Republicans, with 48 percent of those under 40 saying they have gotten at least one shot and another 11 percent saying they are likely to do so.
The poll results are also noteworthy when it comes to those who have chosen not to get vaccinated. These respondents seemed to have definitely made up their mind. Seventy-one percent will not get it if they have not received it or are unsure. This includes 48 percent who will "definitely" not get it.
Those not vaccinated are also not likely to be swayed. Respondents were asked "Has information you'e heard or read about the coronavirus vaccines swayed you more (in favor of) getting vaccinated, more (against) getting vaccinated, or has it not made a difference one way or the other?" A majority, at 62 percent, said it made "no difference," 33 percent said "against" and just 4 percent said "in favor."
That the FDA has approved the Pfizer vaccine has not changed their mind either. Eighty-two percent say it "makes no difference" as to if they'll get vaccinated.
How those who are unvaccinated feel about vaccine mandates as a matter of employment is also telling. If an employer required them to get vaccinated before coming into work, a plurality, at 42 percent, would quit. Thirty-five would ask for a medical or religious exemption, and just 16 percent would get vaccinated then.
For those who would seek such an exemption, if they were denied, then a strong majority, at 72 percent, would quit. Just 18 percent would get vaccinated then.
From the write-up:
The increasing number of employer mandates may boost vaccination further, but the poll also shows potential for blowback. Among unvaccinated workers who are not self-employed, about 7 in 10 say they would likely quit if their employer required them to be vaccinated and did not grant a medical or religious exemption.
The write-up highlights the poll results which show Americans are also overall increasingly concerned about the pandemic once again. That being said, it's crucial to note that a majority, at 51 percent, still think they're at less risk compared to the 47 percent who say they're at more risk. In June, 69 percent felt they were less at risk, and 29 percent say they were more so.
As has been consistently apparent from recent polls, President Joe Biden's support for his handling of the pandemic is deceasing. While a majority still approve of his handling of the issue, at 52 percent, that's a drop of ten points from June, when 62 percent approved.
The poll also previously released results to do on how Americans feel about President Joe Biden's withdrawal from Afghanistan. The findings are not good for Biden. You can read about that coverage here.

Zactly...
works for them, right?
I was in an outpost of freedom today. In an area where the fear virus is everywhere with people in the open and alone in parking lots wearing masks, there was one restaurant with a prominent sign stating no masks required. They also had a table for the fallen and a beer drawn for each of them along with crossed American flags.
I’m not “protecting” or “risking” anyone’s health but my own by taking anything. These people are utterly stupid.
I believe we have herd immunity already - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-9952555/CDC-study-estimates-80-Americans-protected-COVID-19.html
RE: I’m not “protecting” or “risking” anyone’s health but my own by taking anything.
That’s not their assumption here.
Here’s what they believe — By NOT taking the vaccine, you are not only risking infection for yourself, you are also by this infection for yours, risking infecting others.
*THAT* is the reason for their forcing the vaccine on you.
Since what are passing for vaccines can’t stop this virus at all, how could it be anything else.
In fact, the reverse could well be true, and these vaccines could make this virus worse for everyone. So who is protecting who’s health?
And if this was a vaccine and prevented infection, that could make sense.
In the real world, it is apparently not true.
We risk the nation allowing collaborative presstitutes to continue to jabber in orchestration with a lying government.
Poll results will obviously outrage the gene twister adherents, which could be the reason why lamestream media is not presenting a more twister-favorable figure.
Sorry, folks. You would have to be living in a free country to have your opinions matter.
You don’t.
You live in America in 2021.
“... Majority Believe Getting Vaccinated Against COVID is ‘Personal Choice’”
There is no ‘belief’ component here. It is an unequivocal right of choice, and that government cannot in any way compel you to wave that right.
Vaccines are no different than Government or your employer holding a bowel of 10,000 Skittles in front of you and telling you that there is ONE Skittle mixed into the others that is deadly-poison. So, in order to go on with your life or keep your job... you are required to choose 1 Skittle from the bowel and eat it. Do you think any employee or citizen would take that 1 in 10,000 chance that they might pick the deadly Skittle? No WAY!
Vaccines can kill you! And sometimes the cure is deadlier than the disease!
The job of government IS NOT to save lives, but instead to provide guidance in times of a health threat so we can choose our own course of action/protection! The job of government is to PROTECT our liberty and freedom FROM government overreach and abuse; to protect our natural rights and the privileges guaranteed to each of us by the constitution! And to defend and protect us FROM THOSE who would interfere with and subvert the free exercise of those rights and privileges. Which means protecting us from the fascist dictates of power-tripping governors, health official clowns and the disinformation fear mongering propaganda they parrot in order to take advantage of a crisis for the purpose of stripping peoples civil liberties and controlling them like sheep.
Do not submit to a FORCED vaccine! You have an absolute right to reject it.
Glad to see this. Husband and I are both on board with this - it’s a personal choice!
It is a vaccine and it prevents infection. However it is not perfect. Before the Delta variant it did that pretty well. However now it is showing itself to be a lot less useful. The data for the UK (99% delta) shows a lot better than nothing for >= 50 years old but actually worse than nothing for < 50. Looks to me like the younger and healthier someone is, the more that they skip this vaccine.
The virus is not being stopped anywhere by these “vaccines”.
I saw another article, today, that mentioned that the only Polio to occur (I think in the U.S.) since 1961, was from the vaccine, itself.
That is a vaccine that stops a virus. Only failure of the vaccine, itself, was left to infect anyone.
That is not what is happening here, at all. The vaccinated appear to be getting sick, I believe, as you say, from Delta, and they are infectious. Israel is about to try a Hail Mary of repeating a dose of a vaccine which does not work against the Delta variant they now face.
These vaccines are not only not perfect, I believe they are a menace. The virus will be driven to something worse by vaccination which does nothing but piss it off. Look up Marek’s Disease in poultry for a heads-up.
You are anthropomorphizing. The virus mutates all the time with variants selected by natural and vaccine-based immunity. We don't yet know all the mechanics of how natural immunity works. But natural immunity seems to work better https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.08.24.21262415v1.full.pdf than vaccine-based immunity. I just saw this paper for the first time tonight.
The virus is not being stopped anywhere by these “vaccines”.
They create antibodies and they make infection with the old strains less likely. Just 20k breakthrough in 4.5 million vaccinated in Mass https://www.nbcboston.com/news/local/heres-how-many-fully-vaccinated-mass-residents-have-tested-positive-for-covid/2481272/. However the hospitalization rate is high, at 21% of new breakthrough cases. I'm certainly keenly aware that ADE may contribute to worse disease, but the main impact of vaccines is still to reduce infection even with delta.
I know that’s they’re assumption. That’s why I made my statement. Transmission has nothing to do with whether you’re vaccinated or masked, because neither prevent virus transmission.
My bowels, my choice!
