The child at the center of Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court case that established a woman’s right to abortion, has come forward after decades of secrecy.

Shelley Lynn Thornton, 51, has revealed herself as the youngest daughter born to Norma McCorvey, whose lawsuit under the pseudonym “Jane Roe” led to the Supreme Court’s 1973 ruling that legalized abortion, according to journalist Joshua Prager’s book, “The Family Roe: An American Story.”

“Secrets and lies are, like, the two worst things in the whole world,” Thorton told Prager in an excerpt of the book published in The Atlantic on Thursday.

Great to be alive but it must hurt to know your mother fought to have you aborted and tens of millions of others.

She didn’t fight terribly hard (more along the lines of agreed to be recruited to serve as a paper plaintiff with someone else footing the bill and handling the lawyers) and in the end did switch to the side of the angels.

God writes straight with crooked lines.

So “Roe” had her baby and became pro life. I knew she was pro life, not that her baby was born.

These situations lead to strong feelings, but I don’t agree with the daughter.

Whether accidental, and no matter what the mother considered doinh, her daughter did owe her the gift of life. She literally wouldn’t exist without her mother.

Because of our leftist media, I guarantee you 80% of Americans have no idea what became of “Roe”. Of course, once she became pro life, she became a non person.

What a terrible position to be in. I don’t want to second guess her, or violate her privacy anymore than it already has been.

Abortion is not a Right, it’s a choice.
Do I have a right to murder someone?
Or is that a choice?
There’s no excuse a man and a woman can give that would explain how they don’t know what the two possible outcomes are after having sex....

the abortion ruling was based on: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Privacy_laws_of_the_United_States

YET, the same law does not apply to those being forced guinea pigs for big-pharma...

” and in the end did switch to the side of the angels.”

She did switch sides, but then at the end of her life she was playing footsie with the pro-aborts again, appearing in a pro-abort documentary AKA Jane Roe saying that pro-lifers had manipulated her or some such nonsense. God rest her soul, the woman was a troubled, disreputable sort of person.

I’m sure that I’m in the top 1% but haven’t made a career out of it.

Of course my Mom was in the top 1% as well so she deserves the credit for my interest.

That you haven’t heard my name is fine by me—the motto of the place that formed me most is Amari Nesciri, good advice from St. Philip Neri.

Of course, I wouldn’t expect you to have heard of him, to understand his advice, or care for the advice other.

She didn’t fight it so much as she was put up as a puppet to advance the agenda of the people who paid for it, all the way up the ladder to the supreme court.

The court case did not even make it there for several years. By that time she was an active participant in name only.

That’s how much these crazy liberals wanted to make it legal.

I would prefer to personally have never known this...to know your birth mother went all the way to the Supreme Court to try to get the right to kill you.
