While it has been 20 years since the September 11 terror attacks, the images of the day are indelible on American memory.
First responders and New York City residents emerged from the area, covered in a thick gray soot that rained down on the site.
Of the nearly 3,000 people killed, the NYPD suffered 23 fatalities, 37 members of the PAPD were lost and 343 FDNY members were killed: the largest loss of life of any emergency response agency in history, according to the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States.

My problem with this discussion...if you say this is the ‘borderline’ and fed-funds flow for this....then you have another 100-odd episodes per year.....in differing states/cities...where they also meet the ‘borderline’. What kind of health treats did the First Responders Face?
(1)Heavy metals.
(2) Dangerous Particulates from the Inhaled smoke.
(3)Danger of Falling Debris.
All very deadly and as it turns out a lot of the First Responders that didn’t die from the Initial Collapse of the Trade Center died as a result of the aftermath.
An additional item I forgot was item (4)Fire.
