Washington DC is literally full of people who have never worked a real job in their lives. Look at the resumes of people like Blinken, Sullivan or even Milley - they spend decades in DC and its organizations, kissing ass and climbing the greasy poll.

President Trump wouldn’t leave a pair of cargo pants with lint in them.
He doesn’t put up with BS, as is obvious in his statements here.

You might want to consider that we spent billions training an Afghan force to protect themselves so we could bail out, mostly, and they would need equipment to do so. And there was still a wish for Bagram Air Base to remain open in a multi force capacity as it was the closest base, with a huge runway, to the Chinese border. What Biden didn’t consider was the Afghans folding up shop in the first week and not using that equipment.

But they did need it. You can’t train a military force and then take their tools away from them.

He may have wanted to leave nothing but geography and geopolitics made that physically impossible. USAF has maybe 250 C17s. No way to remove all the large equipment and no friendly airfields to remove them to near enough to allow maximum loads. Also in order to keep up appearances equipment and supplies had been handed over to the Afghan Army and these account for much of the equipment now in the Tally’s possession.

I'm curious why Trump didn't start repossessing the equipment from the Afghan army and either returning it to the U.S. or destroying it in place last year. That's a lot of stuff and Trump had committed to being out by early May.
