September 2021 marked the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. It was a somber occasion, as millions of Americans looked back on one of the worst atrocities in American history, and that calamitous foreign policy America embarked on in response to it.
Revolver writes “one of” the worst atrocities, because there are deeds that killed far more Americans than 9/11 did. In fact, America is living through one of those atrocities right now. Newly-released FBI numbers confirm something that has been apparent for the last year: The Black Lives Matter movement is the deadliest entirely-preventable atrocity inflicted on the American public in the past two decades.
On first hearing, that might sound preposterous. But it’s not. The human cost of the Black Lives Matter movement has been worse than 9/11, worse than the War on Terror, worse than Pearl Harbor, worse than every spree shooting in American history combined. And the very government that enabled so much of BLM’s carnage has produced the numbers to prove it.
On Monday, the FBI released its official tally for homicides in the U.S. for the year 2020. The numbers confirm what was obvious even before last year ended: 2020 was the worst explosion of murder in American history, and it wasn’t close.

But, I still have to say, direct comparison to riots and fall-out is nebulous.

I’ve read somewhere that with abortion, health/lifestyle and murder, if it wasn’t for immigration, the black population of the USA would be declining in absolute numbers. I’ve been trying to verify this.
So it makes sense that 100K Haitians at the border must be allowed in. The present political overlords need it to maintain their power.

In some places such as New York City, they passed the mark in 2016 where there were more abortions than births to black women.

I find it hard to believe that the FBI has no idea how many of the murders were committed by BLM directly and another list of how many murders BLM incited by their influence in riots.
I do not find it hard to believe that they would conceal those numbers.

I do not disagree with the general argument of the article but bad comparisons do not make a better argument.
1. “Twelve thousand murdered Americans is three times the number of Americans under 30 who have died of COVID-19, according to the CDC. Adjusting for the America’s extreme aggression in counting any death with COVID as a COVID death, it may very well exceed all deaths under 40, perhaps even under 45.”
The comparison should either be only for murders for Americans under thirty, or with all Covid deaths, not just those under thirty; otherwise its apples and oranges.
2. “Twelve thousand murdered Americans is more than the number of American combat deaths in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, and the Mexican-American War… combined.”
Not true. The numbers killed in the revolutionary war were about 6,800, and about 15,000 in the War of 1812, and about 1,800 combat deaths and 13,000 military non-combat deaths in the war with Mexico. Not only do the numbers exceed the 12,000 U.S. murders but also occurred when the U.S. population was much smaller, which likely makes the deaths in the three wars a larger per-capita death rate than the 12,000 deaths in todays U.S. population of 329 million.
3. “It’s more than the number of Americans killed at D-Day, Pearl Harbor, and in the North Africa campaign of World War 2… again, combined.”
Again. (a) Not true. D-day saw about 1,600 U.S. Deaths, Pearl Harbor about 2,400 and 10,000 in the North Africa campaign. (b) Which as one-day military events at war, and a five year period of war in North Africa, it is again and apples and oranges comparison with U.S. murders for one year - different periods of time and totally different contexts.
I could go on but you get my point, with one exception which to me is the only apples vs oranges comparison that makes a good point, and that’s this one:
“That’s right: America’s murder spike has claimed more American lives [in one year] than 20 years of the War on Terror.”.
There at least we have contemporary circumstances compared to contemporary circumstances, and it is the one comparison living Americans ought to be able to relate to.
In the end, the most important comparison of murder rates is between years and when we get too many years apart the comparison should be presented on a per-capita basis and not a gross number basis.
Breakout the black on white murder rate for a real shocker!
