Like all rational Americans, I was happy with the results of the Virginia gubernatorial election this past Tuesday. However, I’m not optimistic, one reason being that a photo-finish victory against a sleazy establishment bagman in a state that a decade ago was reliably red is an indication that we dodged a bullet rather than pulled ahead of the pack.
Youngkin’s surprise comeback can be attributed solely to the freak occurrence of the issue of critical race theory arising at just the right time in just the right place to swing just enough votes his way. A month, or a county, in either direction might well have nullified this accidental advantage.
Will Youngkin keep his word and take on critical race theory in schools? We shall see. Roughly half of Virginia voters apparently have no problem with their kids’ schools operating as racist indoctrination centers, and who knows how many “Republican” Mitt Romneys and John McCains will sit in this upcoming 51-49 legislative session. Still, I wanted to gauge the reaction of both sides before I offered any commentary.
So it's been a few days. How are Leftists translating this election?

I had the same thoughts. While I’m glad Youngkin won the election, a wider margin of victory would have shown how unhappy people really are with liberal politics.
The only thing Youngkin has to do is get rid of mail in balloting, and get rid of the things the last governor voted for.
The rest will begin to work itself out.
Thoughtful article and worth reading.
I think it’s funny how so many liberal talking heads, talked of racist appeals, etc. in this election. And these allegedly racist voters elected a black woman lieutenant governor, and a Hispanic Attorney General. That sure shows how racist the voters were, according to the MSNBC crowd.
There might have been a wider margin of victory.
Without an audit, we don’t know.
This author would likely find a down side if his home team won the Super Bowl or the World Series. Yes, the Left dominates the principal institutions in society. But like in the Soviet Union or the Captive Nations in the Cold War era, fewer people than ever trust the powers that be. The mainstream media ranks with dope dealers in public trust. Ditto for the Federal government, trust in which is at an all time low. Unless they accelerate the country into a full blown police state and suppress the rebellious states very soon, the Left will lose Congress and many state houses next year.

The way this country is now, most people will vote straight down the ticket simply because someone has a D or R next to their name. It’s the small percentage of true independents you have to win over.
It can't happen without Republicans winning control of both houses of the state legislature by a veto proof margin. Then, a democratic appointed judge will decide it is unconstitutional, so Republicans will have to stay in power long enough to replace most of the judiciary.
The Deep State proved that once democrats get entrenched in government, they will do whatever it takes to hold on to power.

Maybe, assuming you believe the polling which I do not.

Sounds like eGOP talk.
The so called slim margin was accomplished despite the cheating.
The bagmen are nothing President Trump can’t take care of with a simple jedi gesture.
McAuliffe did not concede on election night. He was expecting a 3:00 a.m. ballot dump. For whatever reason, the billionaires in charge of selecting winners decided not to save him.
Remember that Terry McAuliffe is on Team Clinton, not Team Obama.
And the millions of invaders are being programmed to vote D. Have you read the banners and tee shirts they are wearing as they continue to march towards the border? One reason why our border towns are so dark blue ...the evil corrupt rats own those cities because of those legal and illegal people’s voting habits they brought with them....makes a lot of sense doesn’t it?!
This was a MAGA victory with 95% of the polls covered with MAGA volunteers. DON’T LET THE RINOs TELL YOU OTHERWISE.

52-48 not 51-49.
This is not complete without referring to the Carlyle Group.
Youngkin was with Carlyle for 25 years, including serving as it’s CEO.
Carlyle is tied at the hip to Soros.
When the president and Congress both have approvals around 30% and the other 70 are “angry” that is pretty much all you need to know.
Absolutely. I suggest that Youngkin be kept at arms length until he demonstrates otherwise.
