Big deal. The burgers will still be dry.

And it isn’t just about speed. Just think of how much more personal data may be collected as the AI begins to learn who you are and what you really, really like.

I went to the local Domino’s last night, only to be told they only take online orders. No more Domino’s for me!

The companies insist: "IBM and McDonald's are both committed to adopting AI responsibly by embedding ethical principles into AI applications and processes to build systems based on trust and transparency."

Pretty hard to earn that $15 an hour minimum wage when the robot overlords take over.

McDonalds burgers suck. Most FF restaurant burgers suck, some more, some less.
Have to sit down and let them cook it to order (Medium Rare) to get a decent burger.

This is to end the stupid $15/hr wage thing. I think MacDonald’s can see they have to go to robots.
This has been in the works for quite some time. It just hit critical mass.

No indoor dining in our area McDonald’s. Ok I have to admit I am hooked on their pumpkin pies. I order several with a senior coffee 3 creams and 3 sugars. But after the pies are finished for the season. . .I’ll be back maybe next year.

Other than a couple times in desperation on super long interstate drives, across the midwestern hellscapes, I do not think I have eaten at McDonLards since I was a child in the 70s.

The author keeps talking about the humans, the humans. Well, the idiots these places hire to take orders should not be confused with “humans”, and paying them more certainly won’t make them more human. The fact is, 90% of the people placing orders won’t know they are talking to AI. We are way past the Turing’s singularity. Most AI fools most people.
I say, “bring it on”, and give all the morons blue pills and stick them in the giant battery.

‘Midwestern hellscapes’ = Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa’, for example.

Not only that, they have long lines for their swill and have raised their prices. I don’t understand it, but that’s the reality. I can go to almost any of their competitors around town and get a better value for my money, but people love the golden arches.

So, they are partnering with IBM to accomplish this, but IBM will be sued out of existence in the next 3 years for enforcing unconstitutional vaccine mandates on its employees BEFORE the rules were even put in place.
