Dr. Oz expected to join race for Pennsylvania’s US Senate seat: report
NY Post ^ | 11/30/2021 | Joshua Rhett Miller

Dr. Mehmet Oz is likely to enter the high-stakes race for Pennsylvania’s open US Senate seat next year, according to state GOP insiders.

The 61-year-old cardiac surgeon, author and host of TV’s “Dr. Oz Show” may declare his candidacy as early as this week, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Monday, citing Republican sources in the Keystone State.

Oz — who would be vying to replace retiring Republican Sen. Pat Toomey if he decides to run — has already hired campaign aides and reached out to Pennsylvania GOP leaders, several sources familiar with the matter told the newspaper.

Was on a committee with him before he went Hollywood. He was pleasant. I have no idea how he would be as a Senator.

A Columbia University professor running as a GOP candidate?

Not sure I could vote for him.

We tried MAGA in 2018. Lou Barletta — one of the most MAGA members of Congress — ran for the Senate and got his ass kicked.

I wonder if someone like this dude Ozzie is getting recruited by the GOP because he can spend a lot of his own money on the campaign.

Unfortunately, any statewide, including U.S. Senate races in Pennsylvania are decided by suburban housewives. That's how close things are here.

I'll take a Dr. Oz, who will vote with conservatives 75% of the time, over a cipher empty suit like Bob Casey Jr. who will vote with us 10% of the time, at best.

Lord I hope not... Sigh...

If that’s the best the PA GOP can find, it tells you all you need to know about the PA GOP....

Lou Barletta was a great candidate and would’ve made a great U.S. Senator. Unfortunately, the electorate in this commonwealth comes nowhere close to those standards.

He lives in New Jersey so that tells you even more about the Pennsylvania GOP.

I doubt OZ will take out Casey...

Especially since the Supreme Court of PA has been an active participant in unconstitutional and illegal fraud and voting in the state.

Guess we will see, but I would not assume just because Dr Oz is a TV personality that he will beat Casey.

On paper, any GOP candidate should win statewide in PA in 2022, but that assumes a reasonably fair election... given PA is doing nothing to clean up the fraud of 2020, I would not bet the farm on GOP taking the seat. This state went absolute wholesale all in fraud and no one did a thing about it, nor will they in 2022.

So guess we will see....

This should be a cakewalk generic race... election in 2022 will almost certainly be nationalized referendum on Dementia Puppet... in that type of race GOP wins handily...

However, PA took fraud to a whole new level in 2020, and nothing has or is likely to be done about it before 2022.. so we’ll see.

It took my voting lifetime to get the politically destructive force of Trump into office, so a Lou Barletta loss in ‘18 is insignificant to me. I know what Barletta stood for, while I haven’t a clue what Oz stands for. So that’s it for me. All or nothing. It’s too late in the game for weak tea.
