Mumps cases continue to circulate in the U.S., largely among vaccinated people, including children.
Cases of mumps, once a common childhood illness, declined by more than 99 percent in the U.S. after a vaccine against the highly contagious respiratory infection was developed in 1967. Cases dropped to just 231 in 2003, down from more than 152,000 in 1968. But cases began climbing again in 2006, when 6,584 were reported, most of them in vaccinated people.
According to the report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one-third of mumps cases in the U.S. from 2007 to 2019 were reported in children and adolescents. As many as 94 percent of those who contracted the illness had been vaccinated.
“Before that, large outbreaks of mumps among people who were fully vaccinated were not common, including among vaccinated children,” said Mariel Marlow, an epidemiologist at the CDC who led the new study. “But the disease symptoms are usually milder and complications are less frequent in vaccinated people.”
Experts aren’t sure why vaccinated people get mumps, but multiple factors appear to be affecting immunity in vaccinated people, including a lack of prior exposure to the virus, waning immunity and the circulation of genotypes the vaccine doesn’t contain.

According to certain Freepers, this is not a vaccine, because it failed to prevent the illness. It must be an experimental therapy.

Yeah....it’s called MMR.. Mumps, Measles and Rubella... One of those triple threat doses that many people have claimed are a problem in themselves...

I doubt that. What I have heard is that there are certain components of those ‘vaccines’ that possibly contain harmful components and the debacle surrounding their use in no way reflects on the utter disaster that is the Branch Covidian Vac Cult disaster that is unfolding....
The article seems to be based on pre-covid data.

But “if” there is a sudden increase in Mumps starting in 2021, then covid vaccines “could” be implicated.
It’s NBC lying by omission again. I did not read anything about the foreign invasion across the border bringing with them the Mumps, and other horrible diseases.
People coming into the country illegally who were not vaxxed for anything.
I'm of an age that I was never vaccinated for mumps as a child. But, as so many in my age cohort did, I did contract mumps as a child. (The same, too, with chicken pox). I have not in subsequent years, as an adult, contracted either mumps or chicken pox. Am I in danger of so doing? Are there any data that indicate the risk to older adults, in my same situation, of contracting mumps (or chicken pox) now?
This would be a further narrative that might be launched at this time, vis-a-vis the so-called COVID "vaccines."

My folks got mumps when they were kids, along with measles and flu and cooties. They are boomers. They share their memories, I suspect, just to see how much cultural dissonance I can tolerate at a sitting. It’s like a Four Yorkshiremen sketch sometimes.
My generation can get a shot for most anything. We are threatened more by texting when we should be looking where we’re going; and by unwise tourism; and by experimental injections.
It’s easy to forget there are other common viruses/diseases other than the fear porn pushed covid.
