When a new poll this week revealed that the public continues to view Ronald Reagan as its favorite modern president, there were many satisfied nods in the Simi Valley, California, offices of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute.

It was the latest confirmation that the foundation that supports the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum has succeeded in keeping the Gipper’s spirit alive and relevant to America’s journey.

I've always wondered if we will ever see another landslide as in 1984 again. Hopefully but doubtful.

Richard Grenell

In case you don’t know, Fred Ryan is the Chairman of the Reagan Library *and* the CEO of the Washington Post. He’s an avowed Never Trumper. And he’s hijacked the Reagan Library.

There will never be another free honest election again. Those days are over. And the left has been cheating and stealing elastomer for many decades...

Reagan called the democrats for what they are back in 1964. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXBswFfh6AY

Reagan was my favorite until 2016. Trump actually delivered many of the things Reagan only talked about, and Peggy Noonan wrote much of what he said.

We’re too polarized. California and New York plus several others will vote blue not matter who and no matter how bad it gets. 350-360 EV is the best that we can do.

Favorite Presidents in chronological order:

1. Washington, who started the country

2. Reagan, who inspired millions after the disasters of LBJ / Nixon / Carter

3. Trump, who fought the deep state establishment and revived the America First movement

4. DeSantis, who is destined to destroy domestic fascism after he wins in 2024

Well I can definitely agree with your first 2.

Actually not sure Reagan is #2. He’s definitely in my lifetime, and possibly for the last century.

No, it will never happen again. We are a completely different nation than we were in 1984. There are a hundred million more people in the US and the white percentage has gone down from 80+% to about 58% in just 40 years - not including hispanics who can be any race.

Even little ol' Idaho has gone from 97% white to 78% - again, not including hispanics.

In addition, for those under 18, whites are a minority - so the future is a majority minority in the not so distant future.

Anyway, 1980 was the first election in which illegal immigration affected the distribution of congressional districts/electoral college and has picked up speed every decade.

Reagan brought lasting changes; Trump not so much. Much of what Trump did was via EO, which as we know can be easily flipped and almost all were in the first several months.

I realize Trump did a lot with no help, even with a republican congress his first two years.

Reagan faced a democrat House his first two years and through personality and persuasion was able to get the democrats to go along. Trump doesn't really have that kind of talent. As much as I like Trump, he is not articulate at all. Trump is almost all bluster, which is why some people favor DeSantis for the nomination. He can articulate clearly a policy and why he is doing it and has been successful in actually growing the Republican party in a state viewed as a toss up. DeSantis knows how to select the right people, too.

I think everyone acknowledges that this is Trump's weakness - he had little success in choosing the right people for important positions.

I would be very happy with Trump again in 2024 if only in driving the media and the libs crazy. But Trump would have to push for Congress to actually pass into law his agenda and not through EO.

If the left truly has power, then why don’t they use it where it really counts?

For example, why don’t they close Gitmo?

Why doesn’t Nancy Pelosi get rid of Space Force like she said?

Why doesn’t the DOJ under “Biden” stop the John Durham investigation?

Why don’t they arrest Trump, or at least one of his family members?

Reagan worked with Thacher and the pope to bring down USSR but he lost many points with me when he left North swinging in the wind.

I don’t disagree with much of your post. The most enduring of Trump’s accomplishments is also probably his most important, and that is waking people up to the corruption in almost every institution—government, media, law enforcement, academia, Hollywood, the judiciary and corporate America.

Reagan was great in his time. I believe he was raised up for the fight we had.

Today is vastly different. The world hangs by a thread and Trump was raised up for this fight.

I like them both. Different reasons.
