Did FDR's obscene expansion government help anything?

Some say it actually prolonged the depression.

But then, the Democrat Party would consider that a good thing.

I despise FDR and what he stood for but there were at least a couple of actions resulting from his largesse that actually did something. The WPA - Works Progress Administration and the CCC- Civilian Conservation Corps. WPA built new public buildings all over the south and the CCC did a lot of work in Georgia and Alabama, many of their efforts can be seen near state parks, etc. They were mainly jobs creators providing work for untold numbers of out-of-work people.

Today? The Democrats WPA and CCC are nothing but Union get-well packages and climate change edicts so ridiculous it isn’t even funny...

On May 9, 1939, FDR’s Treasury Secretary stated publicly “The New Deal is a failure. All we have done is spend money, without reducing the unemployment rate.” (paraphrased, but I know I’m close)

I remember the date, it was 15 years prior to the day I was born. It was in the book, The Forgotten Man, by Amity Schlaes. It’s a biography of the Great Depression.
