CNN medical analyst Leana Wen said Monday on “Newsroom” that cloth masks are “little more than facial decorations” in preventing the spread of the Omicron variant of coronavirus.
Anchor Victor Blackwell said, “Mayor Bill de Blasio said the city has not yet made a decision on if it will cancel the Time Square event for crowds to show up. Right now, you have to be vaccinated, and if they hold it. But for people considering going there or to the Peach Drop in Atlanta or any of the similar events across the country, what would your advice to them be? Good or not good, or if you are vaccinated, you’re fine? What do you think?”

Surgical Masks are facial decorations as well....
They are designed to keep the surgeons spittle out of the gaping wound in their patient, they provide no protection from airborne virus being expelled from on entry into the wearers mouth.
If you can't define the technical specifications for the masks required, there is no way for you to determine the effectiveness of a generic "mask"!

We are being mandated to follow unsafe practices? We need uncle tyrant to give us all a N95 mask weekly. Facial hair will be against the law.

Actual medical grade masks are of limited effectiveness against covid and may actually contribute to catching covid if improperly used. Non medical masks are a joke and may contribute to catching covid. Watching some self righteous, virtue signaling moron wearing one of the BS cloth fashion masks chew out someone else about improper mask use really irritates me.
There’s an old NIH study from several years back that came to the conclusion that cloth masks not only don’t work, but can actually be harmful to the wearer. That article was still available as of a year ago. Probably disappeard by silicon valley now though

3 Septembers ago we had the forest fires over N. California. and a neighbor in the Dental trade gave me some N95 masks so I could walk our street with all the smoke and crud in our air.
So on my first masked N95 walk, the street I had walked for 40+ years was/is 150 yards long and the last 50 yards went up about 50 yards @ mild 5-10% grade versus the semi level remainder.
I never had shortage of breath in 40+ years walking up that small grade.
This time I did. Fortunately, I stopped my uphill walking and came back home when I had shortness of breath.
My wife, the eternal RN, looked at me with her RN eyes when I came home, and her years as an ICU/Coronary care RN took over.
She made me sit down in my Lazy Boy and do several deep nasal breaths on my inhale, hold my breath a few seconds, purse my lips and slowly exhale. After about a minute, she gave me a bottle of water and told me to relax.
Then, she called the FP doc, she had worked for decades until he retired and told him what happened.
He replied, “Dave knows my answer to this problem, and he owes me $50 for this advice:”
“Don’t do that again/anymore!”
It’s not about the masks; it’s about “masks don’t work so get vaccinated, dammit, or all the vaccinated people will die!”
These Biden shitbirds are terrible vax and booster salespeople. People won’t be bullied like this. I expect vax and booster rates will crater now. They must want that to justify vax passports, etc.
They work fine for virtue signaling.

I also hear “there are 50 million unvaccinated.” So it’s over in 50 days right?
So many lies. There is no one left to get infected BUT the vaccinated since they never got the disease and don’t have immunity. Everyone else, like me, got over it the way our bodies were made to get over things. Yes, people died, but people die every day and just going by pure data nearly all the deaths were already the elderly with health problems.
Wow they’re really taking this to the next level. 😷 the cloth ones were redeeming for being all fashionable and patterned at least!
