Russian President Vladimir Putin has told Sky News that the US and NATO are expanding onto Russia's borders - and not the other way around.
At his traditional end of year news conference, Mr Putin answered questions from the world's media. And he told Sky News' Russia Correspondent Diana Magnay that his country wasn't threatening anybody and that he didn't want conflict in Ukraine. But he said the ball "is in the West's court".

With Russia’s current economic and cultural conditions it can’t engage in the conquest of much of anything. It doesn’t have the money and it has a collapsing population. But it is going to make sure that nothing hinders its access to the Black Sea. Russia may not have much force projection but NATO would be fools to spark a war in the Ukraine. Closing the Bosporous is easy. Any NATO forces would be easily cut off. Russia would have air superiority, if not supremacy and supplying NATO forces in the Ukraine by air would be extremely difficult if not impossible. I just don’t see any upside in antagonizing Russia, except maybe it’ll make the neocons and arms industry happy. And involvement there will get defensive forces out of China’s way in the South China Sea.

What about Iranian missiles in Venezuela.? Is our fearless leader going to stop that from happening.?? Or is it going to be just another opportunity for the BIG guy to score another bribe.... :(
When the US, NATO, and the Soviet Union agreed to German reunification in 1990, it was with the proviso that NATO NOT expand to Russia’s borders.
This pledge was broken by clinton!! PHOOEY!!!!

If I were Putin, it wouldn’t matter to me. Defensive missils today lead to offensive missiles tomorrow. That would be his rationale.

Russia is a thorn in the side of the globalists. The EU and the USA aren’t. That’s most likely the reason for all this.
Any country that says a man is a man and a woman is a woman deserves to be obliterated by the US and NATO.
Yup. In an effort to keep Russia from reforming the Soviet Union, we back them into reforming the Soviet Union.

Back off, let them know we don’t want that (takeover of old Soviet republics), but don’t give them the causi bellum to actually take over those states.
