Then-Vice President-elect Kamala Harris was inside the Democratic National Committee headquarters during last year’s Capitol riot when a pipe bomb planted by a still-at-large suspect was discovered outside the building, it was revealed on Thursday.
The explosive was first investigated by Capitol Police at 1:07 p.m. last Jan. 6, according to a timeline of events obtained by Politico, and seven minutes later the Secret Service evacuated then-Sen. Harris from the building.
The shocking development came to light as authorities seem no closer to naming the suspect who also placed a pipe bomb outside the Republican National Committee headquarters.
Both bomb threats were neutralized by authorities later that afternoon, the report said.
Investigators believe the would-be terrorist left the devices the night before a mob of then-President Donald Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol building in an attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
Attorney General Merrick Garland has said the Department of Justice’s probe into the events of that day is ongoing.
In September, the FBI released new surveillance footage of a suspect sitting on a bench outside DNC’s headquarters on the night of Jan. 5.
According to Steven D’Antuono, assistant director in charge of the bureau’s Washington Field Office, the agency has conducted more than 900 interviews, collected approximately 39,000 video files and assessed some 400 tips in trying to catch the perp.
“It’s still a priority for us, has always been a priority since Day One to find this individual, and we haven’t stopped since the day that we found the devices,” he told ABC News this week.
D’Antuono reaffirmed that the devices were active and would have caused bloodshed had they gone off.

Perhaps I am confused, but I think I saw a thread about the bomber and IIRC, he was filmed, talking on his cell phone, while placing several of the bombs that day. Apparently, the FBI has made no effort to track cell phone use at that time, in those places. It’s like they don’t want to know. Which would be weird, huh?
The suspect is being protected because he is an FBI asset.
My impression of the suspect was that the suspect seemed rather feminine.
Those FBI guys will never stop. Stirring up and false flagging that is.
And the person who discovered the RNC bomb was a woman who worked for the US Treasury and who hails from Minneapolis, Minnesota, as I recall.
