CNN anchor Jake Tapper said Sunday on his show “State of the Union” that the statues of Confederate leaders in Congress are “tributes to traders” that honor political violence like the events of January 6, 2021.
Tapper said, “On Thursday night, the one-year anniversary of the attack on the U.S. Capitol, CNN hosted an event at the Capitol to talk about that horrible day.”

The headline says traitors, but the article says, “tributes to traders”. Evidently, Nancy Pelosi is both.
Suspect if you carefully examine the complete life of anyone who inspired a statue, you would find disturbing faults. Statues are made of people because they accomplished or inspired something significant in their time. Amusing that the people who most object to statues are avid celebrity worshippers.

One thing people (OK, Libs) really don’t understand is that states rights and feeling of identity were strong, no stronger than national identity. Those Southerners would have looked at him with puzzlement as they were loyal to their state. Back then the typical order was Family—State—Nation.
There is a story of a very old woman in Kentucky in the depression era. She was 80-90 whatever and had children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren in Ky. When asked who she was she replied a “Virginian but I’ve been living in Ky”. She had been in Ky since something like 1860.
