Arizona college students threatened to go on a second hunger strike if Congress doesn’t pass the Democrat-led voting legislation by Jan. 17.
"We’re prepared to hold out indefinitely now that the holidays are over," Leila Winbury, a junior at Arizona State University, told Fox News Digital. "I have seen the consequences of a broken democracy my entire life, so we're willing to suffer the consequences of hunger striking rather than the consequences of the bill not passing."
She said the next hunger strike will be "a lot bigger" than the 15-day one organized in December.
"Nationwide hunger-striking, more than likely," she noted.
The Un-PAC students are advocating for the Freedom to Vote Act, which aims to take money out of politics, establish more lenient voting rules and make Election Day a federal holiday.

"The health toll was hard, a lot of us had low blood pressure, but we did have a doctor on site," she told Fox News Digital. "He took our vitals twice a day."
"In Arizona I was able to go back to my dorm. In D.C., we stayed in sleeping bags out front of the Capitol, and then once it would get dark, we would go stay in a hotel," Winbury said.
She shared her message to D.C. lawmakers: "Do your jobs, listen to your constituents. We should not have to put our bodies on the line for you to listen to us."

Let them starve.
Hunger strike?
Such bravery.
Agreed.
I’ll bet it won’t be areal one. Power smoothies for all!
There’s a lot of obesity in the country. Maybe this will help with co-morbidity deaths from COVID-19.
With supply chains as such, we’re all starving. No on will notice.
They should threaten to hold their breath until they turn blue.
Awesome!
I’m still eating pretty good, but it costs more.
I hope they starve.
No legitimate voter has a problem voting.
This is an attempt to rig elections in perpetuity.
The drama kidz get all the coverage.
The rest of Arizona could care less. Except of course the 300 people who live in the abandoned warehouse on South 48th st.
Fasting cleanses the body.
Good. Don’t eat anything until you hear them nailing the lid shut.
Some real strong dedication there. /s
Is this a real hunger strike, or one of those rotating strikes?
Will they stage this hunger strike in their designated safe space?
Seems a bit contradictory.
Are the doors wide enough to fit the gurneys through?
I remember 10 years ago Jesse Jackson went on a Hunger Strike to get more aid sent to Haiti.
After a month or so, a reporter asked him why he looked as though he hadn’t lost any weight. His answer was something to the effect: “Well, there are several of us who are rotating on this strike.”
