A senior Federal Bureau of Investigations official repeatedly refused to answer when grilled by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) at a hearing on Tuesday whether the federal agency participated in the riot at the Capitol building on January 6.
Cruz questioned Jill Sanborn, who is executive assistant director of the FBI’s National Security Branch, whether any FBI agents participated in the events that unfolded on January 6, which Democrats have called an insurrection.
Cruz asked Sanborn, “How many FBI agents or confidential informants actively participated in the events of January 6?”
She responded, “Sir, I’m sure you can appreciate that I can’t go into the specifics of sources and methods.”
Cruz asked if “any FBI agents or confidential informants” actively participated in the events of January 6th. “Yes or no?” he asked. Sanborn responded, “Sir, I can’t answer that.”
Sanborn gave a similar response when asked whether any FBI agents or confidential informants “commit[ed] crimes of violence on January 6th,” or if any FBI agents or informants actively encouraged and incited crimes of violence that day.
Under questioning again, she claimed she did not know whether “federal agents or anyone in the service of federal agents actively encouraged violence or criminal conduct. “Not to my knowledge, sir,” she told Cruz.
Sanborn’s refusal to confirm — or deny — the FBI’s involvement in the riot that day could bolster growing suspicions about the role of the agency in egging on violence at the Capitol.
Suspicions have focused particularly on one man, Ray Epps. Cruz said Epps was caught on video encouraging people on January 5, 2021, to break into the Capitol, prompting some to chant “Fed! Fed! Fed!”

Well, if the answer was "No", you could easily answer it without revealing 'sources and methods'... So, the answer, IS "Yes.".
“Christopher Wray who Trump should have immediately fired after the Roger Stone clown show arrest.”
If Trump did that, enough Republican Senators might have voted to convict Trump on either of the bogus impeachment bullshit, that was initiated in the House of Representatives by Pelosi. No more Trump if that would’ve happened.
Even if he did fire Wray, the next weasel up, might be a Strzok or a McCabe type.
“The Hydra has many heads.”
She was truly struggling to answer Senator Cruz’s questions. I think her reluctance to simply lie was because she was afraid this debacle would blow open and she’d be facing perjury charges. The FBI May be having trouble keeping the lid on what they did on Jan 6th. And they know that the first one to open up gets to make the best deal. Assuming, that is, there’s a prosecutor with enough cajones to go after these rats.
Why is she not under arrest?
As a person who doesn’t care one iota for Ted, he did a good
job of framing things for that FBI idiot.
I know some others asked some good questions, but everyone
on our side should have been unloading on this broad just
like Ted did.
She deserved to have a security agent enter a side door,
slip cuffs on her and deposit her in a dark hell hole.
One of our guys should have leveled with her.
Okay Miss Smarty Pants.
You have two choices.
This a serious matter, not a moment for you to do a stand up
or sit down comedy.
You can leave here of your own volition later, or you can
leave in handcuffs and remain in custody until the last
January 6th defendant has been processed.
And while here, you will receive worse treatment than they
have been getting.
Got it, you f’n bitch?
We’re talking about a disruption of this very building, and
if you can’t grasp the importance of that, you need a very
serious wake up call.
We can provide that if you so choose.
