Although President Joe Biden’s policies on ending the coronavirus pandemic and fixing supply chain problems are failing, the media are blaming American workers for empty shelves in grocery stores.
“Empty shelves have returned at supermarkets as grocery employees call out sick and truckloads of food arrive late,” CNBC said in a report that said nothing about Biden’s policies or Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s responsibilities.

This must be regional. No empty shelves where I live at except tp when it was scarce last year. My sister in VA said her stores shelves are all empty.
People sick with omicron is impacting some of the empty shelves but most due to lack of supplies in the mnaufacturing process.

If true than shortages would only be marginally delayed ie. cat food has been almost completely out of stock for several weeks.

I was at Costco the other day and after checking out, thanked the cashier and told her to stay safe as there was a huge recurrence of covid in the are. She said, “I know, everyone here is sick.”
My jaw dropped and I bolted from the store.
