I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, former chief of staff to Vice President Richard Cheney, is reportedly planning to attend a fundraiser in March for embattled Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), who is targeting Trump on the January 6 Committee.
Libby was convicted in 2007 of obstruction of justice and other crimes related to a leak of the identity of CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson. The conviction was widely viewed as a miscarriage of justice, especially because Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage later admitted that he was the likely source of the leak, not Libby. President George W. Bush commuted Libby’s sentence, but despite the urging of then-Vice President Cheney, he declined to issue a formal pardon for his aide.

Because they were always RINOs.
Because in politics “No good deed goes unpunished.”
This is about 2024, Liz doesn’t care about Wyoming.
Et tu, Scooteh?
GOPe - feckless rodents.
This is about the Bush/Cheney/Romney faction still fighting for political relevance, which only comes from taking Trump down at this point. That’s why the 1/6 Commission is so “important” to her.
This guy was a Yale graduate, while there head of the Young Democrats, campaigned for Dukakis for MA governor. In short, he was never much of a Republican and was a devout advocate of the crazy war in Iraq which his boss, Dick Cheney, strongly advocated. I used to have real concerns when I would hear Rush Limbaugh and other real conservatives pushing the case of “Scooter”; I really could not have cared less if he did time in prison.
Question is?
Who urged Trump to pardon this traitor?
Back in the day you would be hard pressed to find ANY Republican that did not want Scooter pardoned.
Once a Bushie always a Bushie.
Two quotes are important “No good deed goes unpunished” and “Live by the sword, then die by it”
Scooter Libby was thrown under the bus and laid out to
Dry by lying democrats and a corrupt media. Down deep, he has spent his whole life with the establishment, and here he feels his friends and obligations. He has to die by the sword that he lived by. Trump did the right thing, and his kindness to those wronged by a corrupt system have been repeatedly quick to side against him because he is so ‘foreign’ to everything they have spent their lives with. Trump isn’t establishment, Scooter Libby siding with the Cheney’s only reminds me that there is one party in Washington. That Uniparty of elites wants your money…..
Good for Scooter, he is siding with a washed up, loser anyway. No way an outsider like Trump will overcome his decades of political friendship with the Cheney’s. He has no influence with the rank and file anyway.
Trump did the right thing even if Scooter supports Cheney. I don’t expect Scooter to kneel and kiss the ring on Trump’s finger, but he would be a Judas if he came out and directly oppose Trump because he was Trump.
But if it makes you feel better, Blago out of Illinois, a pardoned donkey, is a lot more gracious and thankful for Trump’s pardon. That speaks volumes over Scooter’s predictable GOPe behavior.
Trump knew he was a snake when he pardoned him. It was just the right thing to do. But scooter supporting the persecution of Trump is a betrayal to us all. I hope he rots in hell.
There is a boat load of stupid navigating the void in that boy’s head.
OK, he’s a Judas; but he was still wrongfully convicted, and we should care about that.
Because they were always RINOs.
Nope. This is the Republican party. The elected establishment, RNC apparatchiks, lobbyists, big donors, etc. We are the RINOs.
Its frustrating, but while he should show loyalty to Trump, he also must have loyalties to Cheney. And, by extension, to Cheney’s daughter.
In any case, I am proud of what Trump did pardoning him. And shame on Bush for not pardoning him when it counted.
Scooter is a Cheney guy and a Bush guy, so I’m not surprised.
