I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, former chief of staff to Vice President Richard Cheney, is reportedly planning to attend a fundraiser in March for embattled Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), who is targeting Trump on the January 6 Committee.
Libby was convicted in 2007 of obstruction of justice and other crimes related to a leak of the identity of CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson. The conviction was widely viewed as a miscarriage of justice, especially because Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage later admitted that he was the likely source of the leak, not Libby. President George W. Bush commuted Libby’s sentence, but despite the urging of then-Vice President Cheney, he declined to issue a formal pardon for his aide.

Libby, deep state got a pass and pardon. But, folk like Edward Snowden and Julian Assange who helped reveal the ds, got $hit on.

Has there ever been a ‘political’ leader like Trump who has had more backstabbers and turncoats? RINO’s top the list and are leaders in the backstabbing dept bar none.
Trump probably thought he would do the right thing, and help a victim of past Democrat political witch-hunt, and perhaps show his good will to the deep-state lizard family called the Cheney's.
Being cold-blooded lizards, the Cheney's couldn't have cared less.
All are missing the obvious - Scooter Libby would wash the highway if he could be accepted by his establishment friends on both sides of the aisle from Yale and the Establishment. He is ashamed of being in the debt of the Trump supporters and will never acknowledge it bc the only thing worse than prison for him is to be considered “one of them” (us). This form of social dementia strikes even the dumbest among us, such as GW Bush; didn’t you see the latter making a fool of himself at last year’s Inauguration, congratulating Clyburn for making Biden “president”, falling all over himself to denounce Trump, hoping to ingratiate himself with people whom a few years earlier had called him every conceivable name? The fool was never one of us, neither was his old man or his mother, Barbara, nor certainly his wife with the bad driving record - they despised the bulk of the party except when it came time for elections. That’s why I was so glad to dunk Bush Sr. by voting for Perot; he may have been crazy but at least he was genuine.
Trump never seemed to grasp he was in a life-and-death battle with the deep state. Did he really think he could control them, defeat them, or win them over?
Because deep staters don’t understand the concept of gratitude.
