Shouting “Fire Whoopi Goldberg!” on Twitter or Facebook might feel good, but getting rid of The View star for her idiotic comments on the Holocaust won’t fix anything.
Her network temporarily suspended Goldberg early on Tuesday. ABC News President Kim Goodwin said in a statement, “Effective immediately, I am suspending Whoopi Goldberg for two weeks for her wrong and hurtful comments.”
But that might not be the end of her troubles.
Page Six reports that insiders at ABC — which produces and broadcasts The View — say that Goldberg is “in deep s**t” and needs to be given the heave-ho.
The New York Post‘s (in)famous gossip page was told that “ABC staffers and Disney Network execs are saying Whoopi went way too far. And board members are not happy with her apology and want a fuller retraction.”
Worse for the 66-year-old former actress and semi-funny comedian, “Many at the network — including her fellow hosts — believe Whoopi is too controversial now for the show.”

But its ironic because the View (and US mainstream media) engage in stupid, nonsensical, over-simplified cliches, slogans and political narratives every day.
why she is being taken down about some stupid analysis and opinion about the cause of the holocaust is funny, given that she and her colleagues do this every day on every topic.
I agree. It mystifies me that anyone watches it. I only ever know what they say if I read about it here.
Arguing about any of these dumb cows just lowers you to their level. I mean, which do you like better? A) A root canal or B) a colonoscopy...? (See how the answer doesn’t matter?)
Instead of discussing current events, they should make them compete in contests like arm-wrestling, bratwurst-eating, and so forth. Then it might be worth watching. For a minute or so.
I read the title and my first thought was, “It’s a good start.”
Eh. Anything that makes these idiots lives more miserable is fine with me. Sure it won’t change anything. But it is still enjoyable to see vicious brutes like Whoopi get cancelled. Even if the next one is worse.

I always thought that Goldberg (”gold mountain” in German) was her real last name, but it’s not, and she has no German or Jewish ancestors. So why isn’t she being called on the carpet for cultural appropriation?

I think she meant, not racist because the Jews are “white”.
I wonder if she only sees prejudice as the whole world against blacks (American blacks).
She knew 6 million+ Jews were exterminated during the Holocaust. I suspect she meant that they weren’t blacks, “just Jews” so not a racist situation.
I noticed that the audience is primarily female.
