WASHINGTON, Feb 14 (Reuters) - The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said on Monday it was extending its target date to complete an environmental review of the proposed SpaceX Starship/Super Heavy program in Boca Chica, Texas, to March 28.

The FAA's previous target date was Feb. 28. The FAA noted that completing the environmental review does not guarantee that a vehicle operator license will be issued to SpaceX.

Pretty sure the FAA is slowing things down to punish Elon for not cozying up to biden and california.

You’re on to something there. The Fedgov is nothing, if not punitive.

So when did the FAA morph into the EPA?

Exactly.

That will cease when Trump returns to the White House.

Congress may be able to end it before that.

This is nonsense and everyone knows it.

I thought the EPA was responsible for the environment.

So now the FAA is responsible for the environment?

Next thing you know, the FBI will be responsible for the environment.

Reminds me when the FAA grounded Fox News drones at the Texas border.

Exactly my thoughts. Elon is not liked by the government for some reason. He has Tweeted about the idiotic level of government spending, pointing out it is not sustainable. But there has to be more to it than that.

No shiitte, Shirley, Surely the FAA “environmental concerns” can be extended to anything in the air, right? Not airplanes and flight plans. It is simple harassment.

Move it to Florida where he already has the ok. He should have had his Starship there from the start.

Gee. A government agency actually extending the review of a proposed program/product because of its potential impact on the environment. What about the 'environment' of the human body? And the millions of people a super-rushed 'review' has allowed something to be inserted into the collective 'environment?' What say you, FDA? CDC?

About the same time that regulating all air traffic and protecting the “environment” from polluters was added to Article 1 Section 8.

IOW... Never.

Musk should relocate a few miles south - Mexican government might be cheaper to buy.

Elon said in his speech the other day - if the FAA keeps screwing with the Texas permit he’ll more everything to the Cape where he has an already built site and launch permit.

He doesn’t have very much built in Florida. I believe he was already planning on splitting up the launches eventually. But he has to totally move it’ll delay the moon trip by many years for sure.

This is completely ridiculous.

oh really?????

must be ‘nasa’ has a launch scheduled of some woo woo nature, that yhey do not want the highly successful and private launch company to put ztank on, again.
The JWST should have been built by nasa, but I’m glad it wasn’t, for one reason ...so far everything is working better yhan projected, to this moment in time. NASA launched Hubble, with a bad mirror.

Elizabeth Warren is fighting with Elon.

IMHO it was stupid of him to respond to her barb, but it was equally stupid of her to have made the criticism in the first place.

With any luck at all the elections will fix the issue by trimming her wings quite a bit.
