The economic price would be high. But the military price? Poland is a pale shadow of its Warsaw Pact strength. It twiddled its thumbs while Russia was building up, and threw its buffer state, Ukraine, to the wolves, just as it was about to become a strong and a friendly country, thanks to potential EU accession. I don’t think a man of his wealth cares about the high price to his own people or anyone else. He is out to restore the Empire not out of love for his country but because he resents the humiliation of its defeat in the Cold War. The election of Obama and Biden gives Putin the best opportunity to recreate an empire any tyrant could ask for. It is too tempting, Germans and Russians kissing up just like in the outbreak of WW2, isolationists and communists aagitating both sides in the US and Americans naive and self absorbed to the point of stupidity, Palestinians, as in WW2, on the side of tyranny, only this time with sizeable presence inside the US. The propaganda campaign against the US was and is the most successful the Russians ever ran, as we can see by the pro-Putin trolls running amok here and the Dems completely infiltrated. Even Instead of Japan, this new axis includes China. Ultimately we will find out the covid thing was a form of blackmail courtesy China and Russia, for Russia’s interest in biological warfare has been amply demonstrated by all their treaty violations. That is why all the panic, not just the elections...covid was a warning from Putin and his Chinese allies that something like smallpox would be next if the US intervenes.
