Tucker: Defense of Ukraine's democracy has led to an erosion of our own
Fox News ^ | March 1, 2022 | Tucker Carlson

Democrats are using the Russia-Ukraine war to silence their opponents ...

On Twitter, you see Democrats pretending that their political opponents are responsible for the invasion and somehow support it. So, Joe Biden and his staff so mismanaged the world that Vladimir Putin invades Ukraine after Biden told us for months he could prevent that from happening, and yet all of it is your fault. So, that's a slanderous lie. ...

Joe Biden is telling us he will not commit American troops to Ukraine. Biden also claimed he opposed vaccine mandates. So is he telling the truth? Even if he is telling the truth about his intentions in this case, Biden can't see the future. Biden has no idea what will happen tomorrow or next week, much less next year. Nobody does. ...

Eric Swalwell, for example, he recently took the maximum possible campaign donation from a lobbyist for Nord Stream 2 AG. Now that's the company making the pipeline that will give Russia greater control over Europe's energy grid and from which the Russian government profits.

So. Eric Swalwell is taking money from the Russians and by the way, this is a guy who had sex with a Chinese spy. Has he had sex with Russian spies? We don't know, but you'll notice the one guy who probably shouldn't be calling other people traitors, as he takes money from Russian energy interests, is whipping around and accusing everyone else of rooting for the Russians.

To deflect criticism for further eroding our freedoms, the left continues to suck Republicans into a “Who’s-toughest-on-Putin?” contest, with RINOS as the referees.

Everyone agrees no US boots on the ground in Ukraine, but Tucker still will not say US should send weapons to Ukraine. Tucker is a idiot.

Is “Tucker is” another term for “I am”?

Seems so.

In the run-up to this war, Tucker Carlson has contributed much in directing our attention to our own national interests and whether they existed in the defense of Ukraine. He was right to do that but he got part of it wrong.

Motivated by a myopic vision to avoid foreign wars at all costs to focus on China, he forgets that foreign wars such as Afghanistan and now Ukraine inerrantly affect our ability to prevail in our marathon for survival with China. The myopathy thus extends to an overly narrow description and definition of national interest. Indeed, Tucker's obsession against exposing his country to these entanglements and, worse in his view, to possible nuclear war with Russia, has led him down the path of near demagoguery.

For example, the argument that we have no business defending the borders of Ukraine when we do not defend our own is specious. We may have a duty to defend both borders but the failure to defend our own does not justify the failure, if prudent, to defend Ukraine's border. They are logically not connected except by rhetorical device. He dredges up a false choice which Carlson himself in other contexts has deplored.

Another instance, he entertains the idea the America should revivify its energy sector-hardly a difficult position for a conservative to maintain. But he is much less eager to shut off Russian petroleum and gas imports. Perhaps to avoid inflation, perhaps to avoid hardships but it seems more likely to avoid antagonizing Russia. That is a path that leads only to appeasement and defeat.

Nevertheless, he is a leading light, a brilliant satirist, a clear thinker and about the best going today.

Instead of President of the USA, Biden should be the Janitor of the USA with the Balls of the Pope.

Biden left Afghanistan, remember what he told the Afghan army...fight for your country.

Ukraine is fighting, valiantly.

The silence is deafening from Biden. Instead he plans his sickly Mardi Gras speech for tonight.

What did 2021 say to 2022?

It’s the Dems golden bullet. Blame others for what you are doing and and there is no rebuttal ever. Whether it’s confidence the masses will be so burnt out for hearing it they wouldn’t have the patience to listen to countering accusations. Or confidence in their propaganda arm of the media and it’s message being reviewed by stupid people. In either event, unless we find a way to stop this immediate... This automatic ploy by Dems, we will continue to lose. Js...
