  • Donald Trump (and Fox News) are dog-whistling on Joe Biden

For anyone who watches Fox News Channel, it's not at all surprising that its anchors and hosts (with few notable exceptions) talk up President Donald Trump while knocking down the Democrats running against him in 2020. While that position puts Fox somewhere in the gray area between journalism and activism, it's not exactly new. There are ratings in partisanship -- so Fox News engages in partisanship. But even partisanship should have its limits. And one of those limits should be raising entirely unfounded questions about a presidential candidate's health. Which is exactly what two Fox News personalities -- Kennedy and...

In what could be a preview of next year’s general election campaign for the White House, both President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden will go head to head on Tuesday as they each make stops in Iowa, the state that kicks off the presidential caucus and primary calendar. And Biden, the clear front-runner right now in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination, is using the opportunity to blast the Republican president for threatening tariffs on global trading partners. Warning of the impact it’s had on American farmers and manufacturers, Biden plans to call Trump an “existential threat”...

Former CIA Director John Brennan and former DNI James Clapper blasted President Trump on Friday night for directing Attorney General William Barr to declassify documents related to the surveillance of his campaign during the 2016 election, calling it "outrageous." "I see it as a very, very serious and outrageous move on the part of Mr. Trump, once again, trampling on the statutory authorities of the Director of National Intelligence and the heads of the independent intelligence agencies," Brennan told MSNBC host Chris Hayes. "And it's unclear to me what Mr. Barr is actually going to do. Is he investigating a...

Pete Buttigieg received a standing ovation from the crowd at the end of his Fox News town hall in Claremont, New Hampshire Sunday night. The South Bend, Indiana Mayor and 2020 presidential candidate drew raucous applause throughout his town hall with Fox News anchor Chris Wallace, particularly when he dismissed President Donald Trump’s tweets: “I don’t care,” Buttigieg remarked when asked how he felt about the missives. ... Buttigieg spent the town hall deftly handling Wallace’s pointed questions on a host of issues from fiscal policy to late term abortions. The South Bend, Indiana mayor also addressed an elephant in...

It’s the second poll in three days to show Trump trailing Biden by 11 points, which is mega-landslide territory by the standards of presidential elections. But there are two differences between Wednesday’s poll and today’s. Wednesday’s was a poll of Pennsylvania. Today’s is a poll of the entire country. And Wednesday’s poll came from Quinnipiac. Today’s comes from … Fox News.Have we had any presidential tweets yet accusing Fox of being “fake news”? If anything’s going to do it, this will. It’s actually not the head-to-head number with Biden that’s most ominous for Trump here. Biden also performs best in...

GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN -- “I just listen to Donald Trump.” Erika, a 31-year-old from Green Bay, told me this outside the arena where the president was scheduled to speak-her distrust and disinterest in the press breathtaking. “The news media stinks,” she spat, insisting she gets all of her information from the president. “He sees it. He walks it. He knows. Trump goes there-he goes to the Texas border and speaks to the people who are working down there. And they’re telling him what’s going on, what’s going wrong, what needs to be fixed. That’s a true president. I wouldn’t listen...

I watched Chris Wallace this morning because he was interviewing Rudy G., his overly aggressive and accusatory questions, and talking over Rudy exactly when he was about to make a point and not allowing him to answer infuriated me. I continued to watch to see if he was as disrespectful to Adam S. Lo and behold he asked only a couple of tough questions but sat quietly and allowed him to fully answer each one. The difference in the respect given to the two men was disgusting.

A White House spokeswoman says lawmakers aren’t “smart enough” to assess President Donald Trump’s tax returns. Press secretary Sarah Sanders tells “Fox News Sunday” she doesn’t think House Democrats are equipped to examine the documents, which a key House committee is demanding under a 1920s law. The panel has given the IRS until April 23 to hand over six years’ worth of Trump’s personal and business filings. …

Fox channels have mentioned the US congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for 42 consecutive days, a study has found. The 29-year-old liberal star received at least 3,181 mentions in six weeks from Fox News or its sister Fox Business, according to research by Media Matters for America, a not-for-profit media watchdog. The finding will reinforce perceptions that Fox, owned by media mogul Rupert Murdoch, is obsessed by Ocasio-Cortez, portraying her as a radical socialist who threatens the American way of life.

Fox News host Sean Hannity has ignored calls from network execs that he stop promoting frequent guest Sara Carter as an “investigate reporter.” Network executives have made the request in response to her reporting not being vetted or meeting the network’s editorial guidelines, according to Mediaite. Hannity features Carter on the show almost nightly to discuss the “deep state” and other stories on her eponymous website. She is barred from appearing on the network’s news programs. Fox News has also banned former Trump official Seb Gorka from the network’s non-opinion shows. Inside the magazine: March 19 Watch Full Screen to...

The Seattle Times reports a staffer at local Fox affiliate Q13 has been fired after the station aired a doctored (and insulting) video of President Donald TrumpÂ’s first primetime speech from the Oval Office on Tuesday. Local radio host Todd Herman was sent a video from a listener. As the Times reported, "The video was changed to make it look as if Trump was sticking his tongue out languidly between sentences. In addition, the colors in the video look more saturated, leading the presidentÂ’s skin and hair to appear more orange." Here's a side-by-side video: Was video of President Trump's...

In a mainstream media landscape dominated by the left and its take on world events, Fox News has been a lone bastion of conservatism and conservative reporting. It has traditionally been the place where right-of-center Americans go to seek truth devoid of the biased slant from socialists and anti-Trump activists. But lately, Fox News has not been living up to its charter. Unquestionably what we have in the United States is not a “free and unencumbered” press. Yes, the First Amendment does protect the press from governmental interference, but “free and unencumbered” requires much more than the absence of governmental...
