Get water cans. Get food stocked. And get iodine pills.
Unless you are right next to a target, your cancer won’t start for several years. You’ll probably starve to death by that point.

Not a bad idea to keep a radiation detector also. Even without a nearby hit there is enough stupidity going on with the eurotrashes that some kind of release could easily happen. The US West coast is pretty much down wind of all the current foofaroo. When the Big Fukushima went up it set off the detector here at the shop five days later.
