I trust Musk’s estimates more than anyone else.

Artificially high gas prices is the new crisis to make Americans switch to EVs. Typical liberal approach, increase the pain index to force change on the masses.

Coal-fired power plant?

I am here to tell you that you cannot power the American economy on wind and solar. And how is this guy anything like an expert on the subject? He couldn’t even well-run a small Midwestern city, and is certainly not an energy and economics expert.

Not only that but you house is going to have to be wired to charge these suckers which most likely means thousands to upgrade your power. Not to mention utilities will have to upgrade both transmission lines and generation to handle the larger load

IF you think there will be charging stations all over——go look long & hard at MAPS from VERIZON & other Cell tower users & see how many “BARE SPOTS’ there are.

LOTS of the Western 1/3 of the USA have NO cell towers——and they WILL NOT have charging stations, either.

He did take off a bunch of time during a supply chain emergency to take family leave for “his” kids. Presumably so he could learn to chest feed . . .

Buttplug lies.

EV rely on Lithium which is found in China and
we would rely on another Commie source.

Lithium batteries are expensive and when need
to recycle are expensive.

EV vehicles go on fire and the tech isn’t mature.
Even Tesla has had problems.

An equivalent EV SUV would cost much more
and since Americans love their SUV’s many Americans
could not afford the same performance EV

Next the interstate highways don’t have enough
fast charging stations and to spend 3 hours
every 300 miles charging up on the road will
invovle hundred of billions of dollars to build
enough big charging stations. Filling up a fuel
tank takes just minutes.
Anyway Coal and petroleum power plants are still
the source of charging energy the EV is plugged
into.

The whole thing is full of problems it could
take decades to solve.

Meanwhile at today’s prices its costing us
consumer and additional amost $2000 per year
in just the new price hikes.

And the SUV follows behind him, so he is saving zero carbon emissions anyway.

Alternative energy cannot even keep up with increased energy demand…

An intelligent and forward looking administration would implement an energy policy which replaces traditional energy production with alternative at a little slower pace than traditional is replaced.

A good starting point would be to at least be able to meet increased demand with alternative while maintaining existing traditional energy production.

Time magazine should put his pic on the cover showing Buttedgedge chest feeding his kids.

That will cause auto insurance costs to skyrocket until the industry seems to have overcome the issue.

Considering that the batteries cost almost half of what the vehicle costs, auto insurance premiums will likely be astronomical, as well.

And, if vehicles are garaged at homes, those home insurance premiums will skyrocket, too, due to potential fire damage.

The biggest problem with any Leftist/Liberal idea is their failure to consider unintended consequences.
