Vladimir Putin today sent a chilling warning to the West and oligarchs telling 'scum' traitors that Russians will 'spit them out like a midge that flew into their mouths' - as he claimed Western 'attempts to have global dominance' is coming to an end.
The Russian President, speaking in a bombastic televised address from the Kremlin nearly three weeks into Moscow's invasion, warned the West would use 'those who earn their money here, but live over there' as a 'fifth column' to 'divide our society'.
'I do not judge those with villas in Miami or the French Riviera. Or who can't get by without oysters or foie gras or so-called 'gender freedoms.' The problem is they mentally exist there, and not here, with our people, with Russia,' he said. 'The West will try to bet on the so-called fifth column, on traitors... to divide our society.. to provoke civil confrontation... to strive to achieve its aim. And there is one aim - the destruction of Russia.'
He claimed that the conflict was merely a pretext for the West to impose sanctions because 'they just don't want a strong and sovereign Russia' and insisted the 'military operation' in Ukraine is going to plan despite his troops' advance remaining largely stalled on the outskirts of Kyiv. But he also told Russians, in words ironically reminiscent of Zelensky's speeches, that 'we are fighting for our sovereignty and the future of our children'.
It is the latest in the propaganda pushed by Moscow in a bid to justify their invasion of Ukraine to Russian citizens - including claims the war is about 'de-nazifying' the country and preventing a genocide of minorities waged by Kyiv.

What do I want to highlight? We must clearly understand that a new package of sanctions and restrictions against us would have followed in any eventuality. I want to emphasize this. For the West, our military operation in Ukraine is just a pretext for new sanctions. Yes, of course, they are now concentrated. But in the same way [the occasion] was for them, for Westerners, the referendum in Crimea, which, by the way, took place on March 16, 2014, exactly eight years ago, during which Crimeans and Sevastopol residents made their free choice - to be together with their historical homeland.I repeat: it's just about reasons. But the policy of containment, weakening Russia, including through economic isolation, blockade, is a conscious, long-term strategy. The leaders of the West themselves no longer hide the fact that the sanctions are not directed against individuals or companies, their goal is to strike at our entire domestic economy, our social and humanitarian sphere, every family, every citizen of Russia.
In fact, such steps aimed at worsening the lives of millions of people have all the signs of aggression, war by economic, political, and informational means. It has a total, undisguised character, and, I repeat, the so-called Western political beau monde does not even hesitate to speak about it in plain text....
A massive attack has also been launched against Russia in cyberspace. An unprecedented information campaign has been unleashed, which involves global social networks and all Western media, the objectivity and independence of which turned out to be just a myth. Access to information is limited, people are stuffed with a huge number of fakes, propaganda forgeries, in other words, linden. It got to the point that one of the American social networks directly announced the possibility of publications calling for the murder of Russian citizens...
I want to be very frank: behind the hypocritical talk and today's actions of the so-called collective West, there are hostile geopolitical goals. They do not need, they simply do not need a strong and sovereign Russia, they will not forgive us either our independent course or the fact that we are defending our national interests.
What is interesting is that some days ago, a letter from a purported whistleblower within the Russian FSB revealed that the analysts were developing a strategy whereby Putin would make a speech claiming that the West's actions were tantamount to starting a war against Russia.
A raving lying murderer.
If Russia can invade Ukraine, why can’t NATO?
And this mad dog killer is worshipped by the Putin Puffers here...
Dear Vlad:
All we want is for you to leave Ukraine. If you do that yourcountry can go back to living happy and productive lives. Just leave. Call up your guys and tell them to go home.
Or, if Russia can invade Ukraine, why can’t the US invade Cuba?
He’s nucking futs.
He’s lost it. The rumor that he has a brain tumor seems plausible at this point.
Something to male the Putin Puffers smile

I don’t like Putin but his point about the globalist elites is valid.
20 yrs in Africa and the ME taught me to never trust a terrorist
The big bear has been poked. If we let the neocons continue to poke the big bear be advised he has a mighty strong arm. I’m not sure the working people of this country want to be hit on our own soil with such a blow. Especially considering our track record in Vietnam, Iraq and Afganastain.
MAD (mutually assured destruction).
I can see a lot of people who need to suit up or shut up.
If Putie is planning for tossing some nukes, he better hope they are better maintained than his tanks and trucks.
‘I do not judge those with villas in Miami or the French Riviera. Or who can’t get by without oysters or foie gras or so-called ‘gender freedoms.’ The problem is they mentally exist there, and not here, with our people, with Russia,... to divide our society.. to provoke civil confrontation...”
I don’t know. Sounds like he’s wanting to protect his country from the cultural/political rot of the West, creeping in from Ukraine. I wish some leader here would say such things.
“I don’t like Putin but his point about the globalist elites is valid.”
Interesting, given that he is one of them, and one of the top ones. His estimated worth is $200 billion, which would make him the richest person in the world.
The bear will be starving soon enough and unable to defend itself.
I don’t trust any of them, but if you do not think our State Department and Eurotrash in combination with Soros and the Davos crowd have not been needling Russia via the Ukraine you have not paid attention.
Everyone talks about the Ukrainian government being corrupt and they are right. What nobody talks about is how WE have been the ones mostly funding or facilitating the corruption!
Ask yourself why we were funding Soros NGO’s in the Ukraine, pushed a color revolution, AND we got their own attorney general fired to protect Hunter Biden.
What Putin is doing is wrong but “we the people” need to step up and stop our government from its own corruption using our tax dollars. We have no business screwing around in the Ukraine or any other nation like this.
It’s so bad in the Ukraine that most of our senior embassy staff there retired and now work for Soros and the very NGO’s they threw our tax dollars at!
The whole thing is disgusting. I feel horrible for the Ukrainian people and the young people in uniform on both sides.
Putin should be excoriated by every rational person for this but we need a full accounting of what WE did in the Ukraine as well. There are no white hats to be found over there or in Foggy Bottom and a nation cannot overcome corruption when the United States is funding it on behalf of Soros and the Davos crowd.
“Especially considering our track record in Vietnam, Iraq and Afganastain.”
Our f**king politicians lost those wars, not the US military.
