That is a good and fair question to ask. Looking it uip, older USSR era dog tags have "BC CCCP" on them, newer ones have "ВС РОССИИ".
Possible explanations:
Capture real, dog tags faked for looks.
It's all balderdash. Russia and Ukraine are both led by Socialist Dictators! A pox on both their houses!
Check out the Wagner Group.
There are no photos of Jefferson Davis in a skirt.
“Not sure what they do in Soviet Russia, but I’ve seen guys stencil pretty much everything but their socks on US ships.”
Saw video of Russian soldiers searching people leaving Mariupol for Tattoos. I’m sure for Azov tattoos.
The Azov battalion can’t surrender. They have to fight to the death. For the Russians, it means more of them die.
They can probably take Mariupol, but it will be bloody. One of the Azov released videos said they had 3000 vs 14000 Russians besieging the city. 3000 willing to fight to the death, will kill alot of Russians.
RT is still on twitter.
Bingo. He was born not ling before the wall fell, so he would not have been in the military then, All the Russian army dog tags now and for the last 30 years say BC ROCCUU. Military Service of Russia.
I think somebody messed up in this attempt at fake news.
This is not for Russian consumption, this is for Western and US media consumption. They needed a set of dog tags and grabbed some from somebodies home or mementoes.
There is no way a LTC in the Russian army would have old dog tags. He wasn’t old enough to have been in the military when the wall fell.
Scotland is supplying Russia with kilts for winter war conditions.
That’s Mister Bean.
I wonder if the phrase “caught in his underwear” would be equivalent to our saying “caught with his pants down” Figurative, not literal.
Yes, the translation is poor.
And I wonder about “ panties and socks of the Armed Forces are better than the skirt of the underwear of the praised “Second World Army”.

“That’s Mister Bean”
Looks like the guy who played Carla Tortelli’s husband Nick in “Cheers.”
Imho

If the guy had a mustache he would look like Boris Badenov
I put a phrase from an American song into a translating machine, to see what Russian would do to it -
The phrase, ‘And it’s been the ruin of many a poor boy’
translated from Russian came back as:
‘And these were the ruins of many poor boys.’
Doesn’t exactly convey the meaning at all.
There may be really smart, secret programs that translate well; but every one that I’ve seen has contained instances suggesting that you still need a human translator to translate the translation...
🤣🤣🤣🤣/s
The same reason that, long after the demise of the Soviet Union, my Russian-born wife was still getting letters from the Russian Embassy printed on Soviet stationery.
It's called "using up old stock."
Regards,
Why does the dogtag have CCCP on it?
—
Because he was in the military before the collapse of the USSR?
