PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Florida — House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) told Breitbart News exclusively in an interview that House Republicans have sent dozens of “preservation notices” across the federal government to agencies and departments throughout Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration ordering them to preserve documents in anticipation of eventual subpoenas from House Republicans after the 2022 midterm elections. What’s more, McCarthy said he is tasking every House committee with fully engaging in oversight matters — rather than just running everything through the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform — broadening the use of the levers of congressional authority to engage in a massive and unprecedented effort to rein in the Biden administration’s waste, fraud, and abuse of power.
“First we’re focused on the biggest issue drivers because we want to win elections,” McCarthy told Breitbart News. “Inflation, that’s the number one and we’re beating them by more than 20 points, crime, the border, fentanyl, energy independence, and we’re going to put that all in the Commitment to America. But what we’re also going to have too is our Accountability Project. So, every single committee has an oversight subcommittee. Most people think when you come to Congress if you want to do oversight you go to the Oversight Committee. No — every committee has one.”
McCarthy’s interview, at the House GOP retreat here at the Marriott at Sawgrass just outside Jacksonville where weeks ago pro golfers competed in the TPC (The Players Championship) tournament, focused heavily on oversight preparation that Republicans are planning for if and when they retake the U.S. House majority. About time! Should have been done 6 months ago.
I got preservation orders in less that 24 hours because I found that the National Archives/Federal Records Center were going to either resume destruction of records needed for litigation or were going go destroy records that were not theirs.
The attorneys I worked with very quickly understood what I had found and found out about certain types of records that were to destroyed the next day and acted on it within minutes.
It can be done if you have the legal right and determination to get those preservation letters,orders out ASAP. It helps when you work with a great Asst. Attorney General and honest attorneys. I did.
Today I wouldn’t trust any Obama/Biden administration attorneys in the DOJ’s divisions who work with national security issues, the FBI leadership, the Civil Rights Division, and a few US attorney’s offices.
It's the same story trust but verify. If Kevin was dumb enough or slick enough to alert them to what to shred and what not to shred before saving it ourselves than it's pretty clear what side he is on. As usual its a slick move where no one knows if he did preserve the important docs or not.
Not only alerting them what to shred but allowing them all kinds of time to mount a defense of slick lies like they always do. Ever heard a dirty dem admit to any wrong doing at all? It’s big news when it happens since it hardly ever does.
The only saving grace here is local Republicans that are not corrupt and DJT who is helping pick non-rinos for up coming races.
There is ZERO FAITH Kevin McCarthy will do anything of consequence or impact. Who would have faith? We need a new political party. REPUBLICANS WILL DO NOTHING TO REALLY HOLD BIDEN ACCOUNTABLE BECAUSE THEY ARE ON THE SAME TEAM! Stop the BS already.
